Previous generation model, comes with just 1 year warranty. Has been prone to a greater number of early failures, DOA, etc.
Wait for the FI8910W to come back (usually $69 on sale), much better quality and more stable firmware and web interface. Even comes with a 2 year warranty.

This is FI8918W. It would be nice if it is FI8910W.
The plus side is free shipping instead of $5 most the time.

@faw: What's the difference between the two models? They look very similar based on their product pages.

Just did some research, I guess the main difference is that the 8910 has a *mechanical* IR-Cut filter that automatically slides in front of the camera for bright light, and slides out of the way for low light.
I think you are right. Flexible IR control is very nice. Though it claims to have wider panning range, I don't see any difference between these two models based on description.
The best price for 8910 was low 60's.

Yeah, I can't find an 8910 for less than $75 + shipping.

Google "FI8918W pink/purple".
I have both and the FI8910W is excellent color-wize! ~~
Adding this, from Foscam.com:
"The FI8910W distinguishes itself with an embedded IR-Cut filter providing enhanced picture and color quality. The IR-Cut filter automatically adjusts the lighting exposure via mechanical filter to provide true and accurately colored images that are not washed out."
The FI8918W is an inferior model than the FI8910W. Which also went on sale from time to time. I think the lowest was $65 shipped.

Just an advisory, I bought the newer model (FI8910W) from 1SaleADay two weeks ago, and it still has not shipped. I purchased December 27th. And, it was only $65 shipped.

Not sure that they whack your credit card, I think they are legit, but everything I have ordered from them has been absolute Crap with a capital C. I personally steer clear of this site as they seem to be a clearinghouse for goods that don't meet expectations.

Same for me. I ordered the Foscam from 1sale on Dec 14th, and just got it today Jan. 9th. They are not notably fast to get stuff out but this purchase was terribly slow. I blame the holidays.

man boardcams suck. if you are daring you can at least swap out the lens. Ask them which lens they give you usually 6mm or 12mm but you can buy a pack of (plastic) lenses cheap and throw them on. Of course the throw of the IR is rather poor so if you bump up the lens to see farther, you will need more powerful IR .
Pretty poor quality compared to an ancient Sony TRV-10 camcorder from 12+ years ago.
