Just as a possible alternative, last month I bought a three handset Panasonic KX-TG6531 from Amazon "used" for $50 shipped. It all looks brand new, the batteries were still sealed.
Intercom DECT 6.0 Talking Caller ID Uses included AAA NiMH batteries instead of a battery pack.
Some nice deals if you poke around.

I got this model while back. batteries die very quick and extremly hot on some of the handset. I stopped usisng it after 3 months..

I would not recommend this model at all. The last GE phone we owned died in about 2 years.
