Techncially this is a repost, but it is worth a separate thread since many will miss the 128 GB 11-incher is also on sale.

Locked one in last night. Have the same spec'ed system but a 2011 Sandy Bridge version. At only ~$100 to $200 to fleabay the old one in terms of cost difference, it's worth the upgrade for me. 15% faster and USB 3.0, as well as the much-improved HD 4000 graphics.

DO NOT BUY.
I bought this on Dec 28, I returned it on Jan 3rd. In the 5 days I had this, several times it did not connect to the Wifi. Clicking the reconnect, did not do the trick. After few hours, it magically connects.

Apparently, this is a known issue on the MBA for the past couple years. The Wifi antenna design on the MBA is the cause of this. Check out this link on the apple forum [[S=https://discussions.apple.com/message/21017609?ac_cid=tw123456#2...]https://discussions.apple.com/message/21017609?ac_cid=tw123456#21017609][/S]

There are some homegrown solutions by changing the settings on the wireless router to get this to work. But, you cant keep changing the router settings where ever you travel. I had 5 other apple products connect to the same router without any issues. Bottom line, this is a POS. DO NOT BUY. Save your money.

No idea where you're getting that problem from. I've transferred so many terrabytes over Wi-Fi on my 2011 MacBook Air, I've lost even guestimates.

Does it have the best Wi-Fi of any laptop on the market? No, of course not, it's an ultrabook. But it doesn't bug out like you describe. Sounds like you got a bad unit. The Wi-Fi on the MacBook Air is suberb, and great compared to the crud many ultrabooks now ship with.

I'd go for the 4GB/64GB at $800, but I have a philosophical aversion to paying $100 for 64GB more SSD space when you can get an entire second 128GB drive (and an external case, with some effort) for the same $100.
