Crucial apparently made this after the popular M4, albeit with compromised specs (compared to M4) ... samsung did the same thing with the 840 (non-pro vs. pro). its not a bait and switch by any means, but we shouldn't be encouraging companies to scale back on read/write or IOPS. essentially they introduced this around the .65/GB pricepoint, then jacked up the price of the better spec M4 since last fall. vote with your dollars guys. thanks anyway OP.

Crap slow SSD. Avoid. Check out the Intel X25-M G2 drives at TigerDirect.com instead, with rebates.
