I haven't tried Mass Watermark, but the Irfanview viewer (www.irfanview.com) does a great job with batch watermarking and much much more.

Turns out this was the trial version, which sticks an ugly Mass Watermark logo on all your photos. You can add your own watermark too, but it's extremely silly looking.
