MrC: " after application of all promotions, coupons, instant savings and Rewards redemptions " means can not use any ink or monthly rewards either, right ?
So fresh OOP expense that will count towards Premier I guess ...

yes, the outlay to purchase these counts towards premier (make sure you have your rewards # listed on the order prior to final checkout).
when you redeem the rewards from this purchase, that WILL NOT count towards premier.

Yup... used via Discover 5% CashBack to cover tax in my state as this was OOP
@MrC, yes ofcourse rewards RESULTING from THIS when used do not count towards Premier as do any rewards use ...
This was a rare 100% rewards back online purchase in a very long time for me ...

I'm planning to purchase 3 online and have it shipped to my office address, since I'm out of town for few weeks. Can I apply online, without sending any upc or anything by mail?

wow, the 1st non overly complicated Staples deal (for me anyway, I don't keep up) that seems very enticing. Dunno about signing up for manu coupon for .50 cents tho.

Tries with Chrome / Firefox, same error.
Anyone else getting this error ?
Yes, same here when I try to get the Scott Paper towel deal. Tried IE and Firefox.

haha, you got me! I just started watching these threads again last week. Just thought I was offer some 'balance'. Yes, it is free after rewards -- but you're still paying real money for an overpriced item. Basically just paying yourself for a later purchase. Not worth it for me. But maybe I don't fully understand the Staples erewards program enough. I'll check it out.
I bought one of these after going through a travel company's "online mall". Not a great deal* but the few points I earn should keep my frequent-customer account (with the travel company) alive for another year.
*I get $1.64 (per Wal-Mart) worth of wipes in a scent that doesn't appeal to me for 24c (tax) net after I re-spend the $3.99 on something else in March. This offer suited my needs perfectly, but I'm not sure I'd have bothered otherwise (as someone pointed out upthread, the $3.99 in spending credit towards SR Premier that I get for buying these is balanced by not getting $3.99 in spending credit when I redeem it).
If I'm missing some fundamental logic, I'd like to know.
I can't find the thread discussing this, so if someone can direct me, it'll be appreciated.
When ordering at the kiosk and paying in-store, is that considered an in-store purchase for the rebates that require that the item be purchased in-store? Thanx

1 - 513099 ream paper @6.99 FARew 3 - 501741 lysol wipes@3.99 FARew my total will be $18.97 (plus tax) and I use existing $-4.00 rewards to pay $14.97 (plus tax) and gain $18.97 future rewards
If I understand right, I can apply my $4.00 rewards against the paper and since the balance will be OOP I will still be good on the wipes.

So fresh OOP expense that will count towards Premier I guess ...Exactly what that means. If that is the ream paper it is a rebate not rewards. You will get something less than $12 back in rewards as you are paying for the some of the transaction with rewards. You only earn rewards on what you pay out of pocket. The $4 rewards will be prorated amongst the items.

Thanks for mentioning this. I wasn't going to bother with this deal, because I really don't need it (not that that necessarily stops me usually), but I just placed two separate orders via airline "malls" to extend my miles expiration another 18 months. And I can always buy more FAR paper to cash the rewards next month.

It is a long story. The cashier is not smart enough to ring up 2 times for my 2 cases of papers, he rings up 1 time for 2 cases of papers, I don't know until I saw my receipt, it only applied 1 coupon. So do a return and repurchase, now they messed up with my reward too. Showed minus $20 reward coz of that.
I just placed two separate orders via airline "malls" to extend my miles expiration another 18 months. And I can always buy more FAR paper to cash the rewards next month. Mine was a hotel program with 12mo expiry. Hopefully there will be something other than paper FAR, so you don't also lose the 10% Rewards on that. But yeah, I'm not worried about getting my $4 back. Price-per-point would have been cheaper to buy 1000 hotel points, but I really don't need them so I'm happier with a couple of points for 24c.
This is going to be my new technique (the other, for airline programs, was to transfer points from the Carlson [Radisson] program). I kept a VIA Rail account alive (and got just over a redemption threshhold) by buying a $6 eBook from Kobo last month.
I guess the big trick is finding stuff like that that's available online, since a lot of the FAR stuff is there to get us into the store.
Printable coupon for 50 cents off purchase of 2 Lysol Disinfecting Wipes. But of course it will lower your Staples Rewards payout by 50 cents.
Old news...Did you even read the thread? And no... manufacturer's coupons do not lower rewards payouts.
they may if the cashier doesn't know how to properly enter a manu coupon. it's not an absolute.
True, but his statement was an absolute. Well, the solution is to "absolutely" make sure that the cashier does apply mfr. coupons correctly, and not as a store or item discount. Simply put, mfr. coupons do not reduce rewards, as long as they are correctly entered during the transaction.
