The 55 incher is the better deal. Better again if there is no tax with Amazon in your state. It's $100.00 cheaper than it has been. No Apps but A Roku is A cheap solution for that.

That's the lowest you will be able to get it unless you live around a Fry's. This is the Black Friday price. It will probably go quickly.

I was hoping the see the 60" of this drop to around 900 but this may make me bite on the 55" instead. It doesnt have all the bells and whistels but strong reviews on picture quality. The slim version is es6003 but I read more reviews with irregularities. I wonder if the non-slim design is to credit for that.
I too was also going to jump on the Vizio 60" but you guys warned me of all the problems. Especailly the forums dedicated to the problems with it - thanks for that info...

I don't know!? To me this deal is comparable to another I've been watching = Panasonic VIERA TC-L55E50 55" IPS LED, it has some more features and I hear a better refresh rate than the Samsung 6000. It is 899 on Amazon, but 799 with coupon via Paul's TV (saw on techbargins.com).
Edit: Amazon does price match with Paul's TV, so you could compare the Samsung and that Panasonic for 799. Both were released around the same time in 2012.

BB had the 60 for <1k before Super Bowl. I can't imagine the price won't drop another $100ish in the next few months.

Fry's is not cheaper now, but they always have the best deals when things go on sale. The problem is there are limited locations. I bought the 65" version of this tv on Black Friday for $1,499 and it is a great tv. Just my opinion, but Samsung tvs have the best picture and are better than Panasonic. Just go take a look at Best Buy and you can see for yourself.

You guys don't know how lucky you are to be able to get this for 8 large. I paid over double this price at Fry's 3 years ago (with their mandatory $60 delivery charge, sucks) for my 55" 6300 with no regrets. Sure you can save a few bucks with lesser brands but if you're after the best eye candy money can buy then it's between Sammy and Sony. Since you're going to vote with your fatwallets, this is the unanimous winner.

I'm looking to buy a 40 or 42 inch... confusing as heck because reading the Panasonic reviews I see people say Samsung sucks... then reading the Samsung reviews gets lots of Panasonic sucks.
Both companies make many fine TVs, and both companies have some not so great models. Go check them out in person. Who cares what others think, when you'll be the one watching the TV?

Problem here is it's a panel lottery...only Samsung panels (version TSxx or THxx) are the best; others may not give the best picture.

I actually like its absence of apps - that's better done in a Roku or smart blu-ray player.
