It looks like the gift card you buy is for "Amazon.com Kindle Accessories," but can be used for anything that you can use an Amazon gift card to buy. However, it appears that the promo code you receive as the buyer can only be used for qualifying Kindle accessories. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=gc_kinaccpro_20_lefts?...

Well, with a $149 Kindle Fire HD via Twitter/AMEX and a Used Kindle Fire (1st gen) from CowBoom on the way, I went for the $500 option. I figure it's a no-lose proposition. I spend that at Amazon anyway. Might as well add $500 to my account and cross my fingers that I get $100 worth of free accessories that I was probably going to buy soon anyway. (Although I suppose I would have looked elsewhere for cheaper alternatives, but tough to beat free.) Good luck to the brave. Thanks, OP.
So I'm not sure if anyone has answered the question yet, but does anyone know for sure you can use the kinda accessories GC and promo on any item sold by Amazon?
fpsmania said: dukerau said: Is it confirmed that the initial Kindle accessories gift cards can be used for any Amazon purchase?
It says in the OP, "Kindle Accessories Gift Cards--good for Kindle Accessories as well as millions of other items on Amazon.com"
I doubt there is such a thing as item / category specific "Gift Card"s at Amazon.
I misread, I'm sorry.
To clarify for everyone:
The gift card you purchase can buy anything on Amazon.com The 20% bonus you receive is a promo code that is only applicable to certain kindle accessories.

To everybody that asked if you can purchase the kindle device as a "kindle accessory"... No you can't. Some things you can purchase: 2year warranty, a variety of headphones / external speakers, cases, screen protectors, skins, lights, etc
aarzi said: So 2x20? Does anyone know if this is possible? Is it $20 per Kindle GC purchase of $100-$499 or $20 for buying $100-$499 of Kindle GCs during the promotion period?
Just decided to pull the trigger. Any way to confirm? I sent an initial $100 by email to myself and then decided to go all in and get another $400. The $100 one showed up in the email as a generic Amazon e-gift card, but the $400 one showed up as a Kindle Accessories gift card. Maybe I did something wrong the first time? Any way to tell?
I thought I had to choose an image for the front of the gift card, so I picked the generic Amazon one. Was that a mistake? Not sure if it will convert it to a generic gift card instead of "Kindle Accessories"

I did not receive my promotional code either, so I had to contact Amazon. Horrible customer service as they screwed me out of $60:
(I'll preface this with detail: I originally bought a $100 GC to make sure it was usable on all products (not just Kindle), and after confirming I bought another $401. I contacted Amazon to confirm a few days later that my purchases qualified and they let me know that the $100 gift card was not "Kindle Accessories," so I bought another $100 Kindle Accessories GC to get over $500.)
Amazon said: Amazon:Hello, my name is Manish. I am part of Amazon.com Kindle support. I will be happy to help you today.
Me:Hello I bought $500 in Kindle Accessories gift cards as part of this promotion. I did not receive my $100 Kindle Accessories promotion code as promised by April 1.
Amazon:I am really sorry that you did not receive your promotional credit of $100. Can you please allow me a minute or two while I check this for you.
Me:sure
Amazon:May I know that when did you place an order for Amazon.com Kindle Accessories Gift Card?
Me:March 10 I purchased a $401 Kindle Accessories gift card on March 10 and a $100 Kindle Accessories gift card on March 13.
Amazon:Thanks. Allow me a moment please. Thank you for waiting. I have checked the details of your orders. I would like to inform you that you have purchased the gift cards of $401 and $100 separately and that is why you will receive promotional credit of $40.
Me:That isn't what the terms and conditions say: Purchases must be for at least $50-$99.99, $100-$499.99, or $500 or more in combined Amazon.com Kindle Accessories Gift Card value. "combined gift card value" I bought $501 in combined gift card value so I should get $100 promotional credit
Amazon:I am really sorry but it is clearly mentioned on the promotions page that Buy $100-$499.99, get back $20. And you have purchased gift card of $401 that is why you will receive promotional credit of $20. And you have purchased separately $100 for that also you will receive $20 promotional credit that means you will receive $40 promotional credit to your account.
Me:That's ridiculous. It clearly says that the promotional credit is based on total purchase amount. $100 off a future Amazon.com retail order of qualifying Kindle Accessories when you purchase $500 or more in Amazon.com Kindle Accessories Gift Cards by March 14, 2013. it doesn't say "when you purchase an Amazon.com Kindle Accessories Gift Card by March 14, 2013" it says cards
Amazon: The values mentioned on the promotional page are as follows: • Buy $50-$99.99, get back $10 • Buy $100-$499.99, get back $20 • Buy $500 or more, get back $100
Me:yes, $501 is $500 or more
Amazon:And you have purchased the gift card of these values:• Buy $100-$499.99, get back $20 that is why you will receive $40 credit.
Me: Ok, that is scummy of Amazon when will I receive the $40 credit then?
Amazon: Please wait I am applying $40 credit to your account. And you can use it right away on all the items sold and fulfilled by Amazon.

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that they could give you the credit right away. Their CS tried to side step the issue by saying she's "contacting the marketing department" and they will "get back to you in two days." I'm so pissed off that I'm considering not renewing Amazon Prime. If they keep screwing customers like this I may just go elsewhere. I am sure there are many other companies would like to have my business.
EDIT: I realized he gave you a $40 credit that doesn't have restrictions... I talked to two customer reps already and they wouldn't budge but would only refer me to the marketing department... Let's see what happens in the next 2-3 days. I hope I don't have to go to Better Business Bureau, FCC and news media to complain about false advertising.... Next time we need to be careful about those promotions... It's sad because I never had a problem with Amazon promotions before.
b534202 said: edit: got $100 credit for _anything_ sold by Amazon This worked out really nicely. I got mine, too....after making the 5th contact. It was a lot of hassle but finally got it. I actually bought about $50 worth of Kindle accessories with the rest used on some other things. I think the credit is even better than the original offer. There are not that many useful Kindle accessories to spend $100 on.
