I have one and love it. Still need to do a good vacuum every now and again, but little roomba does a great job at maintaining and making the house look clean. Plus, it even leaves nice streaks in the carpet for that freshly vacuumed look.

Many thanks

Thanks OP. I've got an old 400 series that is on its last legs (wheels?). It's been an awesome little gadget that has saved me many hours of work. I've needed a replacement and this is the best price I've seen on a new unit in a very long time. IN41 and GRN4U.

Brilliant: the unit comes with a home base and a virtual wall.

Not to threadcrap, but the Neato (pet version) is a much better deal. Won't go into specifics, but suffice to say it maps your room with a laser and doesn't just randomly bump into stuff while navigating, ala Roomba.

IMO, iRobot has some serious work to do. The "we make robots for the government" argument is wearing thin. Neato has beat them at their own game by a wide margin. More powerful suction. Smart navigation. Higher quality.

Think about it. There is a reason there is a Roomba accessory that's described as a 12" ring you can place around your dog's water bowl as a barrier to prevent the robot from spilling water as it bumps into it.

Lol, the Neato does this with it's laser mapping, avoiding these types of situations out of the box, no barriers or accessories required.

The Neato pet robot is readily available on e8ay for $299 shipped free, or less (source, bought one three weeks ago - it's awesome). Paid $279 (auction, brand new) for mine recently.

How long do you have your roomba?

rated:

I just bought the Roomba 650. How long is the average cleaning cycle? I read somewhere that a cycle is about 120 minutes, but mine returns to the charger after 60/70 minutes???

I ordered one on march 10, but they still have not shipped the roomba and there is no indication when they are going to have this shipped. Anybody has received his/her order?
