N7100 (International version) just FYI. No LTE support if that's what you're looking for. Otherwise good deal for int'l version

There are many flavors of LTE. No universal LTE for all carriers. If you really want LTE, you need to buy from your carrier.

Note III is right around the corner. I would wait to get better deals for the 2.

Not right around, at least seven months or even a year plus...

Agree, Note 3 is probably around September / October at best, if Samsung manages to pull it off, I think they still want to capitalize on the Note 2 market.

Until ios7 is out, they have a free run so to speak.

This for sure? 4g without LTE is fine but no bueno on 3g.

But free hotspot capabilities and not locked down like the AT&T flavor.

Does this work with tzone and 4g?

Can you write e-mails by using the stylus (that is, by handwriting)? I use a Blackberry because I need to respond lots of long e-mails every day. Is Note-II optimized for great PIM functions and e-mail?

Green for OP.

Thanks,

I'm also not sure if these would have a warranty.. don't think the international version is supported by Samsung US. The one I bought had sudden death syndrome (just randomly died -- its a known manufacturer defect) and I had to send it back to UK where it was manufactured to get service.. which became a big hassle when customs wanted to tax it as an import both ways.. gave up and bought another phone.

I believe this is true for ANY N7100 bought in the US, Samsung US doesn't support it even if you pay full price for it new, as they don't technically sell this model in the US. And it really is Sudden Death -- phone works one day, you never root or put custom ROM, and it just stops working. The bug requires the mainboard to be replaced, which only Samsung can do, no local vendor.

Be very careful with "International" versions. You are going to be in for a real treat if you need Warranty service. It's not worth the small savings.

Any thought on this?

Try looking it up on the net, though I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to. While never owning or using the device, I would guess being able to write works like the voice does with its own button on the keyboard.

note iii isn't around till maybe after summer. but the note 8 is coming, idk if it will hit US shores, but damn is it sexy. its a note ii with an 8" screen. I've never tried to use the stylus to write an email, but you can, instead of the keyboard press and hold a button to change to voice or hand transcribing. what email service are you trying to use? an exchange server? google? yahoo? is your blackberry through work and runs on the BES?

Exchange server. My Blackberry use the BES Express Server (BES over BIS plan).

Thanks very much.
