I just pick a few of the Cree LED light bulbs from Home Depot in Tukwila Washington. They are much cheaper than previous post in March. These are more compact then Feit LED at Costco and other brands. I will put one of this in my old Craftsman Garage Opener and see if it has any interfering like one of the earlier post in March.

Cree 6-Watt (40W) A19 Warm White (2700K) Dimmable LED Light Bulb (1-Pack) = $4.97

Is the low price in store only? The website is showing 12.97 for the '60w' in my area (n. California).

Ditto for us.

This is just a local subsidy by your local utility. The HD price is the same as it always has been.

+1 east coast.

The price is same for me on line and in store. I ordered on line and pickup at store. When I check at the store, the sticker price drop from $12.97 to $5.97 (60W) and $9.99 to 4.97(40W).

Please list your location and utility provider when you have a lower price. Thanks.

I purchased them from Tukwila, Washington store. As far as subsidize by state, I don't really know. There is no sign that mention anything from HD store.
By the way, I have chance to test the 60W bulb with Craftsman Belt Garage Opener model#139.53964SRT and it works fine with remote and manual button on the wall.

Buy at subsidized price and sell for profit

Update:
I stop at Sears on 1st Ave Seattle to pickup couple items today. Since Home Depot few hundred feet away, I swing by and the price are $12.97 (60W)/ $9.99 (40W). I just curious and check out few stores location near by on line and 1/2 has discount price. If you live within few stores close by, may want to check them out.

"color rendering index"

What does this even mean? It's not like you actually gave the CRI figure, you just stated the words "color rendering index". And you can't, because CREE doesn't state it and refuses to confirm it. They seem to reserve the right to change the CRI (presumably for the worse) at any time.

Cree does indeed state the CRI on the spec sheet for these bulbs: it's 80.

Cree just got Energy Star certification for their bulbs, so you should expect to see the discounted prices much more widely available. Won't be able to see them online, however, need to get in store.

Okay. Cree didn't state it at launch, even when directly asked. I guess I didn't see they later released it.

Cree has a new series of bulbs coming, the TW series. It has a 93CRI. They take 13.5W to produce 800 lumens though.
