† I've never seen a cell phone sold that did not have some sort of cancellation policy for the plan with 14 or 30 days. Also, you know that isn't really a Sprint employee you're speaking to, just some representative who gives standard answers.

††Yeah, I'll admit†I'm really skeptical too.† It's the old free isn't really free mindset.† I guess that's why I didn't pull the trigger on this deal.† I'll be interested to see posts from those who did pull the trigger if/when they cancel their services.

So if the monthly bill is $45 + tax. And I read the above as saying could be billed for close to 2 months on the 1st bill. So with cell taxes here at 16.8%. I could be billed for up to $105. If I cancel before the full month starts (I don't understand what date that'll be)†can I get a refund of either the partial month or the full month?

Someone posted a question about a cancellation fee for the As You Go service on their community today. No replies yet. I looked on their website and cannot find anything. Someone who is up to the challenge can ask their chat person and report back. I just don't see there being charges if we do not activate it. The credit card you gave is for "payment" of the phone, not service.

Good timing on this. My EVO LTE has gone kaput and I don't want to pay to fix it. I only have about 5 months left on my contract till I tell Sprint to bite me. I can pick this up, deactivate and reactivate for my real line getting a new phone for no more than $45, hopefully less if I cancel quickly.

The Android piece will still work fine via Wifi, no matter what they do to the phone piece.

Will this work in India (do they have CDMA there)? Will it be able to be activated if Sprint does something to it?†A co-worker was thinking of getting this for his parents.

††I can see how there is no termination fee for prepaid plans, especially since the required†term of service is 0 yrs. However, I don't think cancelling within 14 days and getting a refund applies to prepaid plans.†I will need to see this written in the Terms and Conditions.

Those of you who have Sprint service already, know that Sprint does not cancel service in the middle of the month anymore. They cancel it effective when your billing cycle is over (no proration is done). So there can be 2 scenarios:

1. Your billing cycle will be the day the phone is shipped:

You will be charged $45 in advance. When you cancel, it will be effective end of your billing cycle, unless you cancel in less than 14 days and return the phone.

2. Your billing cycle will be the first of the month:

You will be charged about $12 for October plus $45 for November. If you cancel by the 31st of October, you will only be charged $12.00

Hopefully its scenario number 2.

Is this true for "pay as you go" plans as well? In any event, it appears that there is a 14 day cancellation period, which certainly makes sense.

† Yes there is a 14 day cancellation policy but you need to return the phone in order to get your refund. However the cancelling rep may decide to let you keep it since its zero value, but it will be their prerogative.

rated:
Usually, if you cancel within 14 days, you have to return the phone. That's part of the 14-day policy that refunds your service charge. I wouldn't trust the chat representative that said you can keep the phone and not get charged if you cancel within 14 days. I'd expect to be out one month's service on this deal.
