I too have DSL 3 Mbps (att/uverse). I've never used a dedicated voip device, but use google voice from my computer all the time. I can hear the other person just great, and much better than a cellphone, but the other party complains 75% of the time.
The bandwidth itself shouldn't be an issue: clear voice should require only about 60-70 kbps one way. So I'm not quite sure what it is, but I just bought this obi200 and will report back.
I ordered one yesterday. Just received today. I use online chat. The guy issued me $10 credit. Now deciding if I need to get a 2nd one... This is the lowest price on this ...
BTW, OBi is much better than other VoIP device. I owned OBi 100 for more than a year. Love it a lot.. You can carry this with you to anywhere. As long as you have internet connection, you have a US phone # with you always. I just leave my OBi 100 to my family member in other country. Now they can a US phone # and we can call each other free all the time.
Glad I got one when I did instead of doing my usual thing and procrastinating....got one at $30 before price went up.... 5% back on "online purchases" from discover from oct-december and 1% back from fatwallet. Guys $40 is the "regular" price for an obi200....$60 is regular price for an obi202 (has 2 physical phone jacks).....one year ago I paid $30 for an OBI100 and at the time THAT was a deal.
i bought 1 at 29 but it aint got here yet i'm wonderin if it will be better than GV i am usin on my home wifi phone? (talkatone FREE) i get a lot of dropped calls! although i also have 1 bar signal issues in house places.
