It says it is under maintenance right now, will check back later.

Thanks OP! Worked perfectly.

Other parts of the message (pageerror:false, etc.) okay?

Getting the same error as above:

{"pageError":false,"acknowledgement":true,"personid":54504415,"seedCodeString":"YN6TF4L6R7MP"}

The seedcodestring part IS the code. Redeem it on Mac App Store.

Thanks OP!

Should be ok. Did you try redeeming?

btw, Rex727, you might want to edit your post to remove your ID and code. (You might still be able to use it if no one beat you to it )

Is it for individual or group

Thank you! Worked great!

Where do I enter
seedCodeString it is not taking it

Mac App Store -> Homepage -> Redeem (right column)

You must be running OS X 10.9 Mavericks to redeem the code.

Individual developers - software granted under the developer program is for development purposes only -- though I really doubt Apple cares. This appears to be a glitch anyways.

I think this is the keygen for paying $99/year Mac App Store developers and someone figured out that this WebObjects call will generate a code for free-tier developers when requested manually. Clever, but something Apple can easily plug if they want.

seedcodestring no go for me

I think you may need to have used the Mac side of Apple Developer Connection in the past. That may "unlock" seedcodestring to function.

Aww, it says I have to update to 10.9 to use this application.

Yup, it's code to unlock the server tools. No OS since theoretically you already have it.

Is it possible to redeem the code from a Linux machine?

Why?

@chadgainor

For actual later use down the road on another machine ???

I never used anything Apple before. Right now I am setting up some virtual machines on Ubuntu Server. My regular desktop machine is running Linux Mint. It wouldd be nice if I can try Mac OS Server on a virtual machine to get a feel of it. I don't have any apple os running on any of my machines.

So once you redeem the code at app store, it will start downloading the os x server and installing it. If you do not go through with it, somehow it forgets that you "own it" even though you just redeemed the code. With that in mind, I do not believe you can simply redeem it on a Linux box and then come back to it later. You simply need to let app store download it and make the ownership official.

@asuka, I also agree that it is a glitch at Apple's side, but it is also my favorite type of keygen (especially it is manufacturer supplied). Parallels 9 actually had similar keygen, but they fixed it shortly after, so yeah, grab this while you still can.

Running OSX in a VM is against Apple's TOS, but if you're running OSX in a VM, why wouldn't you be able to redeem the code as if it were an Apple machine?

looks like if you redeemed the code and installed os x server on your mavericks, you can also install it on your mountain lion later this is a great news, as you aren't required to be on mavericks later on to have os x server

See OSx86's forums and site for VM tips.

Thank you! Downloading OS X Server.

If that is correct, then most people here don't realise that!

you have to click on the link in step 2, once you accept, it will throw a json string error like message, following seedcodestring, will be your code in all upper case.

redeem that upper case string .

don't actually type in seedcodestring

Thanks OP!

Awesome, thanks OP

Are you downloading it from http://store.apple.com/us ?
Is the download an ISO image?

Lol, can't believe this worked. Is this some sort of bug?

Do you go to Mac App Store using Safari Web Browser or do you guys use any other software?
From regular browser if I visit "Apple Sore" (through the "Store" link located at the top of their homepage www.apple.com),  I don't see any information about Mac Server OS or redeeming this coupon!

Boy, I must be getting old!

Have you heard of Google? It's amazing!

The code seems to be available in the iOS Dev Center homepage at the bottom when logged into your account also.

It says:
OS X Server 3.0
This is the release build of OS X Server 3.0 for OS X Mavericks

and shows the Redeem Code next to it. So maybe they're letting developers try out the new software.

It does seem like "a preview happening"...

They've always given this out to paid Mac developers. Now they're doing it for iOS debs, too. This is a glitch.

Can you install mac os x on pc? I am building a pc myself, just wondering if i can install mac os x
