$10 for working laptops? I might get more by putting it on eBay.

does anyone know the limitations on the $10 for mobile phones? I have some cheap pay-as-you-go phones that if I could get $10 for each, I would be a very happy camper.

Great deal for Best Buy....but not for me or anyone else.

Could anyone other than a thief find these prices at all acceptable?

just thieves and people who are either too stupid or too young to understand anything about value.

I have seen people go "I can get $100 for my Iphone? I only paid 99 cents for it a year ago LOL i win" and then sell their iphone and learn the awful truth called subsidisation when they try to buy the new model at the phone store "what do you mean it is $700!!! I got my last one for a dollar!, I want to speak with your manager."

I wonder what the specifics are on this: "Not all products are eligible for trade-in." I'm assuming they're not referring to those with cracked screens, etc., but more to those that power on and are older than dirt. (I was going to say older than Jesus; wonder if they would have hollered?)

$10 for an old VX8100 would be fine by me.

Hmm..1 per day, I have 5 old MP3's. I live 1 mile away from a Best Buy, does that mean $50 for me?

I had the same question and took four old MP3 players to BestBuy today.  Turns out that if a unit is on their list of MP3 players that they'll accept for trade-in, they'll give you a minimum of $10 for it (provided it works).  If it's not, they won't.  In my case, two of my MP3 players were on their list, and two weren't.  I received $10 for one of the two "acceptable" units, and was told to come back tomorrow to trade in the other one...

They were smart enough to require them to be working. Last year it was any device, working or not.
I bought some old phones and broken laptops at the swap meet and offloaded them on Best Buy. Manager was pissed

I traded in a old 3 megapixel digicam at a regular BB store and an old Audiovox flip phone at a BB Mobile for two $10 GCs.

Were the digicam and Audiovox phone on Best Buy's trade-in list?

I don't think the camera was, but somehow they put it through.  The flip phone was on the list.  I've tried some other old cameras and phones and they've been denied.  I didn't know until now that I can check BB's accepted list on their website.  Btw, you can also do the phone trade ins at a BB Mobile store.
