Order it online at CC for in-store pickup (that way the rebates won't print out when doing the PM). When you pick it up, bring in a print-out with Staaples' price of $29.94.
Should be an easy PM (depending on your CC, of course) for 110% of the $35.05 difference - get $38.55 back.
So your total should be -$13.56AR (+tax on $26.44).
This is YMMV because of the PM and the availability of the drive at both CC and Staaples. Should be a straight-forward PM when doing it with in-store pickup, so that the rebate won't come up. You might want to call Staaples first to make sure you know which store still has the drive in stock, just in case your CC checks availability when doing a PM.
EDIT: Easy PM for me at the time of in-store pickup - good luck to everyone!!
BVG Backup Option: If you're having trouble with PMs at your CC, try using a BVG credit card, and use a local Staaples' flyer to get back the difference. This is, of course, not as good, since you'll only get 100% of the price difference, and you'll end up paying tax on the total of $64.99.
vickh said: will the Staples price be good next week? My CC checks CURRENT rebates when PMing Same here. You can possibly BVG but then you're losing 110% and just getting 100%. Still making money though I suppose

Green for u.. good deal those can do PM and Rebate Or you can still do BVG if you have such a card and an ad scan. It's "only" making $10.06 back (before tax and stamps obviously) but it's still in the green.

My local CC will wait for 2 weeks.
Why do you want to hold it for awhile? Do we have to wait until the CC rebate become void and then pick it up and do the PM? But then, the purchase date on your receipt would not qualify the rebate.

Purchase date is decided by when you buy online, not when you pick up.

Thanks bozo007. But I did an in-store pick from CompUSA before. I picked it up 3 days after the online order and the date on my instore receipt is the day I picked it up. Don't know if it's the same for CC.

According to many people here, CC deducted the coupon when PM. anxietykl said: finally got a chance to use my 1 dollar cc coupon, i don't have high hopes of a pm but would try it anywas when i have time else i am just gonna return it (my cc sucks that way)

No, they aren't. Staples is 32507751/ 9051 and what that means is 32507751 or 32509051. The first one is first generation of Memorex drive (search Circuit City for that number to see the picture) and has only one rebate at CC. The second one is the one that has two rebates at CC and is on sale at Staples.
should you complete the checkout/pickup before asking for the pricematch?

My CC are pretty anal about PM when rebates are involved but this might work. Thx OP!

Can we pick it up now or do we have to wait until the CC rebate become void?
pctecguy said: should you complete the checkout/pickup before asking for the pricematch? If CC is not that far from you, could go pick up this week and could even go back next week for the PM since the Staples ad is for 2 weeks, as has been pointed out.
I decided the have them ship it to me, and I will go back next week for the PM. Not going to be close to CC today and I've been trying to make myself scarse at CC lately after doing a bunch of PM's (even though they are generally very nice to me).
thanks op. this deal is even better than the 256MB last week. and you get paid too. may end up cancelling/returning last week's.

michaelkenyon said: Got a letter today from CC today saying the ticket # was invalid on the rebate submission. I matched the phone number with the rebate form and called. The confirmation email left out a digit in the order number (same as the ticket number). They fixed it immediately once I read the entire ticket number to them.
Strange things: 1. The letter said they couldn't process the $20 rebate (no such thing, rebates were 15 and 25). 2. The letter didn't have the "offer number" anywhere on it. 3. I never got an email about this, only snail mail.
I got the same letter in the mail yesterday as I submitted my rebates a few days after most of you. Called and CSR took care of it, no questions asked. She apologized profusely to the problem. From her explanation this happened to everyone who purchased online. Yikes! I also did not get any comfort that the problem has yet been fixed. So for those of you who got in on the newer deal on this stick, watch it closely.
