why wouldnt the $30 rebate print out? I mean it does show online. Print a copy of the rebate form and take it to the store. if one does not, argue with them . . .
I still want to know where the 20 DL discs are going to come from

But the $30 MIR online does NOT require the original UPC.
But it DOES require that you have an 'online order receipt', so you couldn't use that in conjunction with the 10% coupon nor the 20 DL discs (unless you somehow manage to talk them in to giving you the discs during an in-store pickup). $30 AR with 20 DL discs is a HOT deal. $40 AR with no DL discs from an online order is a lukewarm deal. I still have no idea what will become of this deal.

If you can submit online the BB $30 MIR from your in-store receipt, then we're in luck. The $20 MIR is here:

You mean 'why wouldn't the $20 rebate print out?' ? I'm assuming it will NOT print out. I'm assuming that the 20 DL discs on the in-store deal is the tradeoff for the $20 rebate for the online deal. It is probably going to come down to one or the other, not both. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I don't know which part of my first post you didn't understand. Once again:
Online deal: $40 after two MIR for the drive alone In-store deal: $50 after one MIR and 10% coupon for the drive + 20 DL disks.
And if you read my previous post immediately before this one, you will see that I said if you can submit online the $30 MIR from the in-store receipt (without sending in the UPC), then you can double dip with Plextor $20 MIR (which requires the original UPC).

So where are the DL discs coming from? I think this may be some mistake, and not really DL, so I advise get in early as it may change sometime tomorrow. And please no phone calls to BB from the peanut gallery.
scoobiedoobie said: (unless you somehow manage to talk them in to giving you the discs during an in-store pickup)
If they won't give me the discs can't I just do a return/rebuy. I ordered online for instore pick-up to insure that one would be avail. Could I then use my online order print-out for the rebate even though I would have returned the item for that receipt and did the rebuy. No doubt it's going to turn into a shouting match tomorrow lol.

NO. If you return/rebuy, you can not use the online rebate forms. You have to use the in-store printout or submit online--but not use the online forms.

and I am not going to worry about the rebates . . . $50 in store for the drive and 20 DL discs is fine. If I get the $20, then even better. Ether way, warm to hot in my opinion. Room Temp = $50 In Store AR no DVD's Warm = $40 Online Warmer = $30 In Store AR no DVD's or $50 In Store AR + 20 DL DVD's Hot = $30 In Store AR + 20 DL DVD's
They will be packed in the morning too with all the XBox 360 shoppers, so I will go in and be right under the radar i think. They may even look at me funny buying a burner, when everyone else is getting XBoxes.

I'm not retarded, I don't need to be told the STATED deals in the ad and online. You said in your own first post that when you buy in-store, you send in the rebate that prints in the store, or be subject to rejection of your rebate. Unless you can provide proof that the in-store $30 rebate DOES NOT require the original UPC, this deal does not exist, as the $20 rebate requires the original UPC.
In my eyes the online 'deal' is not even a consideration, as you are then excluding the 20 DL discs AND the 10% off coupon. The only potential 'deal' I'm speaking about is the possible deal including both rebates, the 10% off, and the 20 DL discs.

scoobiedoobie relax . . . i dont think anyone thinks you are retarted. I would consider the online way, because you are guaranteed $40 AR if you buy right now. If they catch it and change things before the store opens, then the deal could be $51 AR and maybe the DL discs were a mistake in the ad. If you get the deal you want at the store in the morning, just cancel it . . . no harm no foul. just get in early . . . I plan on getting at least 2
later

No point in debating it anymore, we won't know until someone has seen the in-store rebate to confirm if it requires the UPC or not.
$51 w/20 DL discs, good deal. $31 w/20 DL discs, blazing hot deal.
Let's just wait and hope that the in-store rebate doesn't invalidate the $20 rebate. Good Luck everybody.

I just ordered mine online for in-store pick-up.
The online low price guarantee reads:
"Low price guarantee: If your product is available at a lower price online or in the store at the time of pickup, your credit card and/or Gift Card will automatically be adjusted to reflect the lowest available price."
So, when I get there I plan to use the 10% off coupon as well and have my price adjusted. I also plan to face off over the DL disks if need be. I'll be glad to swap them the 20 -r disks from out of the box for 20 DL's.
Also, the rebates state that the $30 one can be done online w/o the UPC and the $20 one requires the original UPC be mailed to White Bear Lake, MN.
I have a new BenQ 1640 which I love, but I like the "branded Plextor" idea as well. I have a friend that's waiting for me to get him a good deal on a burner and he will get whichever one I decide to let go of. I think either drive would probably eBay for at least the cost of this deal.
Today's visit to BB may become quite interesting/entertaining.
