The rebate got extended till 4/30/06 but *ONLY for Harmony 880 purchased at: PC/Mac Mall, OnSale, ClubMac, Buy.com, TigerDirect, Global Computers, Newegg, PC Connection, CDW, Insight and Amazon.

Here is a link to the new rebate: Link

Props to TheJerseyDevil

Logitech has pulled their contest where you originally went to get the rebate, but there is a mirror of the rebate form here thanks to PHDeez.

The rebate form says nothing about where you have to purchase the remote.

Props to my wife who found this deal! We're in for a 676. Why? We're cheap, and we've heard it's good with Tivos.

FYI: I got my compuplus ship confirm and tracking number Monday, 676 arrived Tuesday. After the convoluted web setup (which, although convoluted, was much better than "code search,") and tweaking the delay on Tivo commands down to 0 ms, it seems to be working great. Well balanced and responsive, and very intuitive.

Woo! Thanks for all the green!!

1/26 Dell Coupon now dead (props on the deal to estat)

$249.00-$87.15 (35% off)-$20.00 ($20 off 200 E&A)-$3.24 (2% DPA)=$139.01 + tax -$4.17 (3% FC)-$50 rebate
=$84.84 + tax (if applicable) on $139.01
<font color=white style="background-color: #3E3E3E;">Coupon code expires after first 800 uses, or earlier if offer is terminated earlier.

Does it work for my device XXXXXX???
Logitech's website has information for most of the devices, if it does not have one, you can add one within minutes. Since the database of devices is shared among the community, most likely someone would have added your device. So stop asking question whether it works with device x or y.

<font color=white style="background-color: #3E3E3E;">Buying options... (feel free to update as new deals arise before 4/25)
NOTE: several retailers are reporting OOS (including Staples), but the rebate form is good to 4/25.

<font color=white style="background-color: #3E3E3E;">The 676
$112.95 before rebate at compuplus
$119.99 free shipping before rebate from amazon.com
still $121.98 shipped before rebate from NewEgg
$119.99 free shipping before rebate from buy.com
or at Staples... (thanks Promitheas)
You can get this remote from Staples, but you have to do a catalog (phone) order.

The catalog number is: IM1E92424 and it sells for $184.99 (number for the 880 remote is IM1G58435 $342.49)

  • Apply a 30 off 150 coupon, eBay is your friend though very few are available right now. But the rebate is good for long so no problem with getting this coupon eventually. Also this coupon is stackable with the rewards coupon mailed just a week ago from Staples, so it can stack no problem.
  • PM to Buy.com for $122, or Amazon for $124 there should no be a problem for the PM for those who know how to work the Staples deals (online chat). this would give you ~66 credit. 3 day delivery so shipping should not be charged.

    184.99
    -66 PM
    -30 CPN
    -50 Rebate
$38 before tax - whatever rewards you may have (I had a check for $19 so that puts me to ~20 +tax)

    <font color=white style="background-color: #3E3E3E;">The 880
    $170.99 before rebate at compuplus
$171 before rebate at buyretail.com (tks LoneShadow!)
$180.99 shipped before rebate at ecost.com - NOTE: thread reports that eCost.com is shipping part #966187-0215, Harmony's Canada part number, not technically eligible on the rebate form. No word on whether Logitech is honoring the rebate for these.
Staples number for the 880 remote is IM1G58435 $342.49

Suggestion: Don't install the software from the CD - it will just force you to upgrade it during the install [and uninstall the old version that you installed], download v4.4 here or v5.1.1 here.

    Why?

Because the software on the CD is older than 4.4 [prob. 3.4 or something]. By downloading the software you avoid having to install the old software from CD, then the web wizard config tool [which sets the remote up] saying the software you installed is out of date and you need to update to the newer version. The old software will need to be manually uninstalled [via add/remove programs] then you will need to download the software [via the link] and install from there.

Basically it makes setting the remote up easier, and less time consuming.- PhDeez

NOTE: 5.1.1 may not be appropriate for the 676 or 880 - Redbeard25

    Detailed Staples Coupon/Pricematch/Rebate info
WARNING: Staples not PMing anymore. See FNM182's comments for details.\\
[fnm182: They DID refuse my PM because they said corp does not permit third party PMs, but when i called them back to return it, they miraculoously agreed to do it, i guess it's a hassle for them to return it etc and foot the bill. So very YMMV on the PM.]

    1. Get 30 off 150 coupon from flebay
    2. Phone Staples, press 1 to proceed to purchase
    3. Give the CSR the item number and ask him to verify that it is indeed the remote.
    4. Give CSR the coupon code
    5. Give CSR the rewards code (if you have one) for additional savings.
    6. Pay with your cc and hang up.
    7. Next day do online chat and ask the CSR for a PM to Buy.com (might add $6 for shipping)
    8. Send the rebate.
    9. Enjoy the remote at a filthy low price.
    10. Give OP and his wife some green.

    update for 3/8/06
the Harmony deal is back @ Dell

    harmony for $249 @ D@LL
apply 30% off coupon code: CGXWQ5Z8W?CFBN
use 25 off 150 from fleabay
you can use 35 off 300 but would require a filler
I added 1G SD for $55.99 here because I needed one

    goodluck

    >>>>I just called the Logitech rebate center. It looks like they will not honor the $50 rebate
    >>>>( http://s87018182.onlinehome.us/pics/remotecontestrebate.pdf ) if you buy from Dell.

NO problem in getting rebate from Dell purchase.. !!!

REBATE POSTMARK DATE Notice the postmark date requirement (April 25). I contacted Logitech CSR and complained about the date (my order was to be delivered April 26 although I ordered it April 21). CSR indicated that was OK and to turn in all paperwork showing purchase date. Logitech CSR's have confirmed that people have until May 25 to postmark letter NOT April 25. That should help some people!!

Hey, don't be mad at dividedsky - I edited my post after aphexII's post.

Just so you guys know, the Reseller Rating for comp-u-plus isn't so great...

BUT, the fact that this 50 dollar rebate is out there for a few months is a good thing... bound to be more great deals.

    alert mods

Great post OP! Thanks to your wife, too.

I always wonder where people find deals that they post.

Really, though, I was one of the few burned in the JustDeals.com refurbished Harmony 659 deal with a crap remote. I'm still in the process of getting the refund back...

But, yes, this rebate will come in handy for a brand new Harmony. Let's just hope there's a 10% coupon from Buy.com or a like place that people can use this rebate with.

I want to pull the trigger for an 880 right now, but I'll wait a week or so....

    alert mods

wow...this is a really good deal, no doubt. The question is, do I need a remote???

    alert mods

$18 shipping kills it for me... i will keep an eye out for that first sub-$100 thread on this remote

    alert mods

I've dealt with Comp-u-plus before on a Di Novo Bluetooth keyboard/mouse- no problems. In for one! Thanks, OP

green for you and you wife, op

You're better off getting it at Newegg for $116.99 with 4.99 shipping.

Just because of NewEgg's reliability? link at NewEgg

    alert mods

    676 for $98 + $15 shipping
    880 for $158 + $18 shipping

From Buyeretail.com, never heard of them, resellerratings.com shows good ratings, but very few posts. Tax in NY.

Probably, newegg.com (tax in CA) might be a good choice instead.

Shipping coming up to be $18 for ground!!!

OP: How did you managed to get free shipping?

    alert mods

Costco Online has the Logitech 880 for $199.99.

    alert mods

I'm trying to read the detailed specs and compare the two, but it's too late for clear thinking. So the 880 has color screen and HDTV commands while the 676 does not? Are there other important differences?

    alert mods

Sorry - I didn't check shipping on the 880 - my 676 was $8.99 shipping for UPS Ground.
