The rebate got extended till 4/30/06 but *ONLY for Harmony 880 purchased at: PC/Mac Mall, OnSale, ClubMac, Buy.com, TigerDirect, Global Computers, Newegg, PC Connection, CDW, Insight and Amazon.
Logitech has pulled their contest where you originally went to get the rebate, but there is a mirror of the rebate form here thanks to PHDeez.
The rebate form says nothing about where you have to purchase the remote.

FYI: I got my compuplus ship confirm and tracking number Monday, 676 arrived Tuesday. After the convoluted web setup (which, although convoluted, was much better than "code search,") and tweaking the delay on Tivo commands down to 0 ms, it seems to be working great. Well balanced and responsive, and very intuitive.
Woo! Thanks for all the green!!

Just so you guys know, the Reseller Rating for comp-u-plus isn't so great...
BUT, the fact that this 50 dollar rebate is out there for a few months is a good thing... bound to be more great deals.

Great post OP! Thanks to your wife, too.
I always wonder where people find deals that they post.
Really, though, I was one of the few burned in the JustDeals.com refurbished Harmony 659 deal with a crap remote. I'm still in the process of getting the refund back...
But, yes, this rebate will come in handy for a brand new Harmony. Let's just hope there's a 10% coupon from Buy.com or a like place that people can use this rebate with.
I want to pull the trigger for an 880 right now, but I'll wait a week or so....
From Buyeretail.com, never heard of them, resellerratings.com shows good ratings, but very few posts. Tax in NY.
Probably, newegg.com (tax in CA) might be a good choice instead.

I'm trying to read the detailed specs and compare the two, but it's too late for clear thinking. So the 880 has color screen and HDTV commands while the 676 does not? Are there other important differences?
Sorry - I didn't check shipping on the 880 - my 676 was $8.99 shipping for UPS Ground.

880 has rechargable batteries, and a charging dock. Probably needs recharging once in 3-7 days. 676 needs you to change batteries, or get your own set of rechargable 4 x AAA batteries, needs replacement once in 2-3 months. Also 676, has face plates
I have a Buy.com coupon I need to use for 10% off. Should I use this on the 676 now, for a total of $122-$12 (10% off coupon)-$50 (rebate) = ~$60?
Or should I wait for the 880 to come down a bit before biting? These are good prices, and the rebate is good for a while.
Is the 880 easier to use than the 676? I'm afraid the buttons on the 880 are too close together and not raised, while the 676 has the traditional remote feel so I can find the buttons without looking. Opinions? Can't decide!!!
Edit: Screw it, I'm in for the 676. I don't like the buttons on the 880 and they're just gonna annoy me. Plus I've read about issues with charging down the road. Woohoo! Excellent post!!
Ordered the 676 from Amazon since they have no tax(too many CA based internet stores), free 2 day shipping, and are a reputable store.

I don't know why not. I have a couple of other Harmony remotes and you can always train it with your own codes, so you could set up the keys any way you like.

Thanks OP! Green for you!
I've been waiting to find the 880 on sale for a few months now, however after reading the reviews on the 880 and 676, I decided that the 676 would be better for me. The small buttons on the 880 combined with the charger problems really put me off on the 880. According to the reviews on both, the 676 received much better ratings than the 880. Please thank your wife for providing links to the site that had the reviews on both remotes. She saved me from buying a remote with small and close together buttons (I have very large hands).
I placed an order for the 676 remote with Comp-U-Plus for 108.94 shipped. After the $50 MIR, my final cost for the 676 remote will be $68.94 total. Very sweet! I'll be saying goodbye to 6 remotes. That will make the wife very happy also.
