UpChuck said:Thanks OP- your info will help make one ahappy 8 year old on her Birthday!
My 8 yo daughter just got hers earlier this week and loves it.
My 13 yo daughter is into the Xbox DDR (just got #3) & has gotten pretty good (and lost weight) over the last year and my younger daughter just can't play that one very well. She loves that she can now play her own DDR. Too bad they don't make a Gamecube version of the Red Octane Ignition pad or an adapter so we can use ours with it. It just works on PC, Xbox, PS2, no gamecube. It's a much better mat than the cheap ones that come with it. |

So, can those of you who own this comment on the pad quality? I'm curious how it stacks up compared to some of the other retail / 3rd-party pads out there. |

We own the game, and tried the MadCatz dance pad as a second dance pad. The madcatz didn't grip the floor and wasn't as responsive as the one that comes with DDR:MM. It is also smaller. The real one from Nintendo is definitely worth $25. The other options pale in comparison.
Edit: Credit to my gf: I told her the authentic Nintendo dance pads were available from NOA, and she found it online before I gave her a phone number to call.

Search for "action pad" When I try to direct link, the URL is a horrible mess. |

The pad quality is just the regular entry-level pads out there. It works just fine for what its designed to do. |
