Did you get two rebate forms?
Do them require activation?

What is the price in store? Rebates print out?

Thx

Just did this in NYC store on 5th ave with $5 coupon. Three rebates print out one for $20 and $50 that do not mention any activation and one for $100 with Vonage activation.

Nope. This uses a marvel chipset instead of the usual broadcom.

Here's some internal pics. PICS

Unless you're using this for the built in VOIP capabilities there are better deals out there on routers. Sure it's only $5 after tax, but the performance of this chipset is pretty bad ~22 Mbps in G mode. My personal experience with the chipset is that it runs very hot causing a lot of instability.

Any link would be great...need it just occasionally and dont want to be stuck with a phone plan. thxYou mean to use it with another VoIP provider or to just use it as a router without VoIP service?

without voIP service. just to make calls to reg phone. dont need to receive calls.

Short answer is NO. To make any phone call via this box, you need VoIP. I doubt Skype will work with this box.

Yes, because I don't see any VOIP adapters. Either you use Skype USB phone or use Skype software.

VoIP adapter is built in the box. That's why it has two phone jacks.

Yes. Two rebate forms printed at register.
No need for activation.

Skype does not use the SIP protocol, so Skype can not be used with this adapter, unless you use software that intercepts Skype's output and redirects it to SIP.

Wasn't this advertised on Best Buy last week for $110 with $100 MIR from Vonage and $10 MIR from BB and $40 BB GC?

Woops wrong model and there's no service activation. GOOD DEAL OP!

In for 2 at the Bridgeton store in St. Louis. They had about 5 left as of noon CST. It's not with the normal routers. It's in a little display stand in the center of the main isle. If you cann't find them and the CSR says none are available because that's what the web page says then make him look it up in the store's inventory system via SKU.

The $50 and $20 rebates print out. Then a $100 Vonage rebate with activation prints out.

Wish I had known about the $5 coupon. Could have made 10 cents or so AR and tax with the coupon.

Scored one!
Thanks OP!

Just bought one at local CUSA and used $5 off coupon. Three rebates printed out: $20, $50 and $100. The optional $100 MIR is for Vonage service activation. Still plenty of this router at the store.

$5 off coupon was denied.
They said the official coupon should have barcode.

I am not sure about that. There is some info here about unlocking the Euro version, not sure about NA version. Can any techies here confirm? Thanks

I answered this above. It's a definitive no. The chipset is Marvel which is NOT compatible with openwrt or any derivatives.

Unlocking the device and flashing it with third party firmware are two completely different things.

The only unlock info I found is here. For those who bought this router, please give it a try and let us know if it works. This is a Javascript html hack and there's no hacked firmware for this router as far as I know.

Mine rang up $69.99, then the cashier followed the coupon instruction to void it and then ring it up again with the $5 discount, and up pops a price of $44.99. I guess she put an extra one in there. Score.
