Saw an ad today (9/28) in the Chicago Tribune for Office Depot. They are selling the JBL On Stage II speaker dock for Ipod with remote for $29.99. The ad states there is a $20 instant savings and $50 mail in rebate. Item number 877238. The ad states its 70% off. Seems like a good deal.

Awesome deal OP!

Here is the rebate LINKY

Just ordered one at $79.99 (in-store only) and there is a $50 rebate.

May want to add "for iPod" to title so it shows up in searches for iPod.

just got this for 50 two weeks ago. think I can get the difference made up? I wonder if my BVG covers rebates? Probably not.

Just added this to cart for in store pick-up. Showing $99 + tax. Im in the Chicagoland area. What gives?

Just ordered one for store pick up. Got one for DWs b-day last month for $57. I works great, will do an exchange in order to get a lower price. Not sure why title says YMMV, but whatever.

Had the same problem(showing up 99.99 in cart) at first, but once I selected in-store pick-up, price changed to 79.99

Thanks OP

damn just bought it last week for $45

I sure wish the JBL On Time's price would go to this price point. I like the speakers on it better, and it looks cool too.

Where is your location. Seems no go in Atlanta area. The price is still $99 after I chose in-store pickup.

Can you buy the stuff this week, using $10.00 off $50.00 coupons sent via e-mail this week, and then return/rebuy them next week (at full price) when rebates are valid? Or will you lose the coupon value?

the ad is also in the atlanta paper so it should be a go here as well

Could you use any of the $15 off $75 coupons to purchase online/pick up in store?

I don't understand. The rebate starts from today.

I tried and it does not work. I think it is because the coupon excludes technology product.

Also is this YMMV because the rebate is for the older JBL On Stage and not for On Stage II?

Thanks OP, got one...$36.19 after rebate (+80-cents FatCash-woohoo!)
Couldn't get ANY $10 off $50 coupons to work.

The rebate specifically lists SKU 877-238, so if that is on your OD receipt it shouldn't be a YMMV.

I don't know where people come up with such misinformation.

Sorry, just a little paranoid, the price seems too good to be true. The part about $10 off coupon cannot be used is accurate info though.

Correct about the coupon not valid online. I know what you mean about the price though. I'd love to see a copy of the ad.

Ordered one. Thanks OP.

Is this compatible with 3rd generation iPods?

Works for me in Philadelphia area. $79.99 in the cart.
I have one of these already, the sound quality is very good, but it doesn't quite fill up the room. It's a very servicible unit.

FYI the register printed rebate states": Offer limited to in-store purchases only. Not valid with transactions placed online or by phone. Including orders in-store pickup...

Both the in-store form and the online form are the same OD6402070 offer number so for those ordering online be sure to use the online form version which does not have the in-store pickup exclusion in case OD trys to deny your rebate.

Found the answer: yes.

Order 1 for ISPU. Thanks OP!

I brought two of these a few weeks ago. Very nice.

Must be in-store pick up so these freebies should not apply?

You know the iPod has an alarm function, right?
Just keep the JBL's power on, and set your iPod to go off at the appointed time. Make yourself a playlist of whatever wakeup music you want, and set that playlist as the alarm playlist.
Voila! Instant alarm clock!

I have a 30gig video ipod. Will it work on this speaker? Thanks.

annfab said: I have a 30gig video ipod. Will it work on this speaker? Thanks.

yes, supports the 30/60gb video ipod... not sure about the newer 30/80gb video ipod, if apple changed the dimensions... however, the jbl will probably operate with the 30/80gb version because "support" for an ipod is dictated by a plastic adapter which allows the ipod to fit snuggly and securely into the craddle... if u dont use an adapter, u can still plug in your ipod and have it operate because the interface on the jbl is the standard one for ipods... it just means that your ipod will rely on the connection to hold it steady... the connector is slightly slanted which means the connector will bare most of the weight and long term may screw up your ipod or jbl... of course, you can always put something to behind the ipod to help lessen the strain...

Don't forget the FW 1% CashBack for OD when ordering.

OKay.. thanx. Never use that feature.. but probably gonna use it now hehe

can i use po box to submit the rebate?
