chechen said:how do you disconnect the stand from the monitor? i dont see the four screws its talking about.. it looks like it connects directly to the monitor

On the bottom of the monitor, under the black sticker where the monitor picture is, and the "cable clamp" picture is, is where you will locate the four screws. Just lightly peel up, and towards the base will the screws.

How are folks getting this NeoFlex LCD stand for $20-ish? When I go online, with rewards card, my cost comes up as $29.98 no matter what I do.

Is there coupons being referenced?

thanks!

Yes, the price online has increased. To get a price-matching printout of the $20.99 price, scroll up to the top of this page and click on CostalEddy's screenshots.

My LCD stand is on the way to my place today. I wonder how long I will have to wait before I can receive my LCD from Costco. I am still hoping that I could get it before the end of this week, even though it's now showing the estimated ship date is 15-20 business days from the time of order.

oops..

I just got my Sceptre... Its plastic smells so bad!!

And, the brightness is not very even on my unit, the upper side is darker. Don't know if I'll return it to Costco and wait for thanksgiving... But the contrast ratio is really good, texts are sharp!!

I'll spend more time on it to see what's what.

That's strange, the pictures someone took showed that there was a bright band at the top, not dark. You may need to tilt it down a little.

Since the Sceptre 22" has a standard 100mm VESA mount in the back, this was an easy modification.
Remove the cheap plastic stand by peeling off the sticker at the bottom of the monitor's backside to reveal the four screws. With the crummy stand off, you can put the sticker back on as the Neo-Flex stand will be mounted in the middle of the back of the monitor using the four VESA-standard screw holes there. NOTE: four 5mm screws are included with the Neo-Flex to join its head to the 100mm VESA plate. Four 10mm screws also come to connect the plate to the back of the monitor, but are TOO LONG to work on the Sceptre. Solution? Just switch the two sizes from what the instructions say to do and everything works fine.
As has been noted, the Neo-Flex stand on Staples website has now jumped in price to $29.99. To still get it at $20.99 you will have to print off this page: Staple's cart printout showing Neo-Flex at $20.99. and take it into your local Staples and do a price match.

Monday I ordered a second Sceptre x22wg from Costco. Since the first order said "7 to 10" days and came in 4, I'm hoping "15 to 20" days really means 8. When it comes, the first unit with its two dead pixels will go back to the warehouse for a full refund - including shipping.

Ahhh, I love Costco....

how does costco run out of a product...

When the product is listed as "hot" on HD thread here at FW

the 10 mm screws worked for me.. not sure it makes a diff. but thanks for your summary =)

After this thread and others I bet they've got a whole cargo ship load coming in soon for us

The stand arrived today, but the sceptre 22" is still "in process" @ costco (ordered on 16th)............had nothing to do, so hooked up the stand with my old Dell 17'' oem lcd just for fun looks sweet

Got my LCD today, put it onto the Neo-Flex stand. Great combo! Never had an LCD, are there any utilities that will help me check for dead pixels, other probs, etc? Thanks!

Thanks! -AlexOne shareware program (made originally for laptop screens) is known as Dead Pixel Buddy. It will let you control your LCD and display screens in most any solid color so that dead or stuck pixels will show up. I have two stuck pixels on my new Sceptre. One is near the center, is very faint, and only shows up when the screen is black. I was only able to find it with this program. When any other colors but black are displayed, this stuck pixel turns those colors. I have another near the left edge which is more disfunctional. It is bright blue when darker screen colors are shown and red when they are lighter. I tried the program JScreenFix which "exercises" your display by changing every pixel randomly 60 times a second. Supposedly running it for 24 to 72 hours will unstick the stuck pixels. It hasn't worked for me, but may for others.

You can read about lots of good stuck pixel info and other tricks on this site: Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel Wiki. Just a general warning: don't poke, rub hard with a credit card, coins, or any of the other lame ideas that may damage areas around the bad pixel and could very well cause more bad pixels or screen damage. I did try pushing and rubbing the offending pixels with a pencil eraser through a protective piece of paper, but that didn't work either.

It's okay, my 1st Sceptre is going back to Costco as soon as the second one arrives.

Don't you have to be a Costco member to get this deal? When I try to purchase this it says there's a 5% surcharge for non-members to buy over the web. I live in Ohio and there are no Costco's B&Ms around.
