it's hard to connect pc to a tv that has an odd native resolution like this one. I believe it's 1366 x 7xx. video cards only support 1280x720. You need to some how get the video card to output 1366x7xx, otherwise it will look crap/blurry on any lcd tv. Try using powerstrip |

Don't bang your head as there will always be another deal around the corner. Also, keep in mind that if it was crappy you would be banging your head saying why did I listen to these strange FWers <g>. DVDAPEX said:Thanks to all of the replies for those who got in on this and are happy with the TV. With everyone I read, I get another bruise from banging my head on my desk for missing out. |

no dead pixels but i did get an open box i havent checked it with a pixel tester every lcd (had about 10) ive ever had had at least some degree of dead/stuck pixels if you check it with a pixel tester you will almost always find a bad subpixel atleast if you look very carefully. if it really bothers you id send it back sorry it happened i once had a big stuck orange one right in the middle of the screen sent it back. you might try to hook it up to a pc and use a pixel reviver like

I got mine last week. It is not an open box, I checked the seal, Staples and the box very carefully, I didn't find any trace of open box. Then I checked the TV itself, no sign of open box as well.
So far I am quite happy with it, Played discovery HD whole day. The colors are vivid, darkness level is very impressive, image is sharp. The "Altas Brazil" on the discovery is awesome. One drawback is the regular DVD doesn't have very good pictues on it. I guess the built in upconversion is not that good. I think I need to buy a upconversion DVD player. BTW, the two speakes are annoying, I am going to take them off, and hook up with my 5.1 surrounding one. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any HDMI cable with it. |

I hooked up my old school playstation 1 and it looked pretty horrible. I know that its upconverting everything to its native resolution, but its doing it pretty bad. Anyone have tips? Also I am running 720p from my video card and am typing on it as we speak but the the text is very fuzzy. Any ideas? thanks |

You might try a PS2 playing your PS1 games. It can smooth up the images a little from the initial boot screen.
Otherwise, I think it is time to move on. Btw, are you at least using SVideo cables, Coax, or what? I would not use anything less than RCAs with good insulation (preferably oxygen free like Monster, etc.). No coax if you want a good picture. With the PS2 you can hook up with Component cables. |
