Note that they sent two copies to each store. I have no idea of they'll be getting more once those two copies are sold, so you might want to call before making the trip to the store. Also, when I went, having the UPC code (841881002833) was helpful, since the sales person had no idea what I was talking about, and looked it up on the register. It took him a while to find them in the "back room".

two things to know about the map upgrade:

1. if you're running VISTA, the upgrade will NOT install. you need to be running an earlier windows version.

2. the canadian maps will not run. mio advises that you can either send the unit back to them and they'll reinstall the older firmware (and i guess older u.s maps) or wait as they CLAIM to be "working" on a patch to fix the problem.

I just bought a c310x off eBay and it has not yet been updated. I travel quite a bit to Toronto and I'd really like the Canadian map but I'm having a really hard time getting it to work on my Mio. From what I gather the c310x sold in the US has a license file that allows both the USA and Canada maps to be loaded & used, however whenever I start MioMap with the Canada.fbl file on either the SD card or on the internal flash drive, I get a "some maps are locked..." message. I've tried with two different Canada.fbl files I've found online - one that's ~52MBs and one that's 110MBs...I heard there's also a 94MB version out but I can't find it anywhere...

has anybody found a solution for this? I called Mio and they said that no Canadian map is available for the c310x at the moment and they're not sure when they'll release one - which is downright absurd...

any help is greatly appreciated!

I have read that the new maps actually have less POI's, and is not worth upgrading. Is that true? Do any of the hacks still work to get new maps?

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but as I have recently purchased the Mio C320 (from BF sale at RadioShack), I just wanted to find out if the Modifications posted in this thread for the Mio c310x can be done on the C320?

TIA

Sorry to bring this topic back from the dead but does anyone have the Unlock-C510-Mioskins.zip file and wouldn't mind uploading? I've searched google as well as gpspassion forums for the unlock files and the links all seem dead. It would be greatly appreciated.
