Ultra V Series 500W Power Supply, FAR @ Fry's + FREE SHIP

$40.00 Mail in Rebate valid from 2006-12-01 to 2006-12-31

As usual, the rebate OnRebate.com rebate is currently broken. Couldn't find the rebate on OnRebate.com either, so to be safe, I would recommend waiting until the link is fixed OR the rebate shows up on.

Apparently the rebate is not from OnRebate. Correct link here (thanks blueribb)

The rebate form link at the Fry's Electronics page is now working. If you have
trouble with it anyway, try the link below.

[EDITED by Memetic (2006-12-01 21:19:21 CST)]:

It's *not* an OnRebate form this month:

rebate form

Thanks to blueribb (apparently) for the rebate form link.

FatWallet Linky

[EDITED by sdjones (2006-12-01 21:57:49 CST)]:

Here is the manufacturer link for the Ultra V Series 500W Power Supply
Here is the User's Manual link
Here is the Spec Sheet link

[EDITED by Memetic (2006-12-02 12:15:42 CST)]:

The first link given by sdjones has a link for free upgrade of your warranty
to "lifetime" for the power supply. It's hard to say how worthwhile this is,
but it doesn't take much effort ... so why not?

Just be certain to use the same spam-control email address you used for
the rebate form. Also, the model number for this item is "ULT31841".

Thanks. $43 after Shipping and Tax.

To be safe, assume that you will never be seeing the rebate. I did a similar Fry's/Outpost + OnRebate deal for a power supply just last month. OnRebate never paid it even though I paid the bribe money to 'expedite' it and called them several times over the last couple weeks after the money never showed up in my PayPal account.

OnRebate validated the rebate and claimed to pay it. It kept telling me that the money would show up in my PayPal account but it never did. It even claimed to 'reissue' it. Then I got a PayPal rep on the phone who said that OnRebate never even attempted to post payment not even once, let alone twice.

Might as well get another one. At this point I think I have about 5 FAR Ultra power supplies stacked in my closet. With they would start doing the FAR X-Finity units again.

When I say submit at the end of checkout nothing happens.

I'm not buying anymore of these till Onrebate pays me for the other 4 I bought.

Onrebate is certainly an odd place. Most people don't seem to have much problems with them while a significant minority have major problems. Guess I will keep dealing with them until I get screwed.

Same here, going to give it awhile and try again.

If only they had Google checkout.

That's what I thought when I did the deal for the 500 W FAR Power Supply with $40 OnRebate from Fry's last month. After all, I did a TigerDirect/ OnRebate deal in which I got my money back earlier this year. Surely I'd get my money back from an OnRebate deal with Outpost/Fry's. LOL!

Now I wish I had listened to the people on this board because they know what they are talking about what they are talking about OnRebate. When they are bad they are HORRID, the customer gets screwed, and OnRebate doesn't CARE. They LIE to your face all the while getting paid to take in the payload on the next deal. I hope Fry's/Outpost drops them because Fry's/Outpost customers deserve better than this.

Did this same deal last month, followed onrebate's instructions to the letter and paid (amount withheld from check) about four dollars and change for an expidited hard-copy check (not paypal). Received the check (~$35.xx) in the mail about three weeks after submission.

I will spin the wheel of fortune once again when the rebate form is posted. So far I am 3 for 3 in the onrebate game this fall...

Thanks OP.

I've done these FAR p/s deals a few times now. For no rhyme or reason, onrebate rejected one of them. I followed up with ULTRA through their user forum. I've had one of their people contact me and assure me they will straighten this out for me. The same thing happend to a friend of mine, and he did end up getting his rebate. OnRebate is NOT for the faint of heart

I had two of such PSU deals and both were paid. I think you need to contact them. I just emailed them. Maybe I got lucky.

will pass any onrebate promotion until i get the 3 rebates back from them.

I emailed them twice, none was respond. could you tell me what email address you sent you complain to, thanks.

It is very interesting that some people say OnRebate is fine and some had very bad experiences. I don't think I will jump in this time. I need to find some use for these two FAR PSUs first.

I just looked up my email box. This is the address I used rebatetrans@onrebate.com .

It could just be coincidence. They paid both of my rebates on the same day even tho I submitted them more than a month apart. I also read someone got paid 7 rebates that day. Not sure how it works.

Just to share my experience I purchased 2 X-finity power supplies and a case from RadioShack back in July and hadn't received my rebates by late October/ early September and I started emailing them. As of November 30th they had finally replied to my emails saying I would receive my check in 10-15 business days. I'm not very happy with the entire situation but they are going to pay.

just check the rebate status on onrebate website, all of the 3 are payment sent, waiting for the checks coming in.

My onrebate summary.

5 PowerSupplies, total rebates submitted = $200

Total received $280, yes they screwed up and sent extra $80.

Well, someone's not getting paid. OnRebate told me that many of their customers were being affected by the current cash flow problem and not just me. They couldn't give me a time frame for when the PayPal payment would post. And according to the documentation on their website, I've been paid thru PayPal ( although I have not). So wouldn't be too quick to get another rebate through these folks and use the PayPal option. Maybe the US mails is safer here.

Did they ask you later to not to cash the extra check? Its like Kramer and the "cable guy." Now they are requesting us.

I can get the Fry's rebate form from the link they provided. Did I miss something?

By the way, only submit for onrebate once, got it quickly after paying them

OMG, again?! LOL...this will be my 7th FAR Ultra PSU now, if I'm not mistaken. Gotten all of my onrebates back (with no "extortion" fees) or in pending status. I follow onrebate's directions TO THE LETTER and so far have never had a problem, and I've done at least 15 overall, if not more.

firebat said: [Q]I can get the Fry's rebate form from the link they provided. PS: make sure you select ground shipping at the checkout page, it defaults to 2-day shipping which isn't free.

I brought this same power supply last month (in October). Can I get into this deal (with the rebate?) Thanks.

anybody know if this is any good?

Got the rebate check for the Sep Purchase. My 1st rebate with OnRebate.
Gonna get one.

Just received a $30 and $40 ONREBATE checks in the mail today. Never had a problem with them before (done about 10 rebates through them so far). They're fine by me.

Just to reinforce what many have said already - I follow their instrutions and so far I've received one rebate from them. I jumped in on the November deal for the same PSU, and my rebate is already approved (although I have to wait till 12/30 to get the check, no extra fees paid). The PSU works fine so far.

[Q]I follow onrebate's directions TO THE LETTER and so far have never had a problem

Many others also are extremely careful about following the rules but haven't received their OnRebate rebate(s). I've received every rebate that I've ever applied for (hundreds) until I met Onrebate. I still expect they will eventually pay (over 3 months wait so far here) because I spoke to a CSR who seems to have been telling the truth based on posts here when she said that Onrebate has been mailing some customers multiple rebates by mistake and their system is "having problems" and that they are doing everything they can to get everyone paid who has validated rebates. I hope the last part is true.

I think they better find some way to pay those customers very soon who correctly applied for their rebate(s) but weren't paid or face the consequences including a big lawsuit and OnRebate's demise. It would really help if those of you who received too many rebate checks do the honest thing and don't cash them if they aren't supposed to be yours (use all your willpower to mail them back or tear them in half!). It would greatly help your Fatwallet brothers and sisters get their fair deal that we all deserve. Think how you would feel if you were't paid a $100 rebate you were validated for. Also, I don't know for sure but it is probably breaking the law to cash rebates that aren't yours. It looks like theft and is easily traced back to your bank deposit as copies of all your checks are now saved by your bank. I'm sure PayPal also keeps good records. Best of luck to us all, including Onrebate in getting our overdue rebate payments paid asap!

FAR Ultra Wizard Blue Mid Tower Case + shipping ($10.24 for MD)

Now ships free. Score.

OnRebate is a gamble, just be very careful following the directions. You'll probably get paid.

Just to throw in my $.02 I've done 3 onrebate rebates so far and haven't had any problems. The timing does seem a bit random though, sometimes I get them in four weeks, sometimes eight, never paid for "expedited" service. It seems to fit the story that they do these things in batches.

From what others have said, it sounds like they're having genuine accounting problems though, with the majority of rebates going through fine, but a significant minority experiencing serious problems which seem to be hard for them to solve. I guess in the end it does come down to a bit of a gamble.

Good luck to all!

Check was issued in my name. Why is it not mine?
I already cashed it like other did.

Is this available at B&M or strictly online thing?

Perfect timimg, since new deal over the weekend also included free shipping.
As expected, check came today from the December deal.

Again, these great results were when the deal was NOT onrebate or TD related.
