Signed up and got Sanyo 8400 phone. Will see how it works in my area comparing with Verizon. IMHO Verizon has the best reception wherever you go, but pricewise they offer the least for the money. |

This requires you to be on at least $34.99 plan. The 500 minutes plan is only $30... QUICKAVE said:$250 rebate for TREOs??????? for new or existing customers??????

It's always amusing to see people dog certain carriers. Reality time...they all are imperfect, and at times frustrating to deal with. On top of that, service varies greatly depending on your location. There's a giant SERO thread in deal discussion that answers all the questions asked in this thread. There's two that are even better (of course) over at SD.
Deal Discussion
Without a doubt though, InPhonic, the incompetent fools that handle Sprint's SERO sales, are friggin horrible. Expect long delays, phones out of stock with no warning or followup, incorrect bills (against AND in your favor?!?!), clueless and rude CSRs, etc. Your best bet is to watch the SERO threads and make sure you verify the phone is in stock before you order.
However, you have 15 days following your order to return the phone and cancel your Sprint service (no, not 30 days, its clearly stated on the SERO site and in the material they send with your phone.) So, take advantage of that and contact customer care at *2 or email if InPhonic gives you any problems. And yes nubs, you will get nowhere with the 1st level CSRs; simply tell them you want to cancel and let the Retentions folks soothe your aches and pains. |

Sprint is by far the worst service I have ever seen.
I agree. Horrible service aside, they were not that bad. |

Unlimited Power Vision how did you get unlimited Power Vision included? i have unlimited Vision, but my new phone uses the "Power Vision" network...just curious...for $100 (~$70 after discount) i have a 2000 AT, UL Sprint, UL text, NW @ 9pm plan, but i do get a 30% discount because of work...i'm not complaining (it's a shared plan with my wife), it'd just be nice to have unlimited Power Vision included (and not having to pay $40/mo for it).

Well, I'd just call Sprint CS to complain about Inphonics if it keeps screwing people up. I was surprised to be nearly no wait recently when I called Sprint CS. It used to be 20-30 mins wait! Yes, it was that long. Another thing about the coverage, you have to allow roaming in order to get consistent signal in urban area. Otherwise, by some weird reason, another carrier got stronger signal seems to take over Sprint. |

Looks like the $250 would just be for existing customers.
Hmm, I'm a new customer on the SERO plan with a Treo 700p, applied for the general Sprint rebate (not this one) and it says I have a $250 rebate coming to me. So it may be for new customers too. |

That's now a $40 additional charge.
Where are you getting a $40.00 additional charge? I have a 700wx with vision without a $40 charge and connecting via the Sprint mobile laptop software (you get this via a download, the instructions are on the CD with the 700wx).. Basically, if you have the vision plan you have the cell modem access. The Vision plan comes with the SERO for free. You are all set..
I missed the reference to the TREO. And I could be wrong... please correct me if I am.
I have an A920 and I was told by Sprint (ok, too trusting perhaps) that I could not use it as a modem without adding another $40 to the plan on top of the Power vision. Other online reviews confirmed this as of 2/2006.
I did see some discussion here that said you could do it without the $40 expense: Link ...But it seems Canadians were getting slammed with 15/mb charges leading to $1K monthly bills.
I'd be interested in hearing from other non-Treo US Sprint users that got the modem to work w/o the modem charge It was part of the reason I bought the phone I did. |

i have 4 phone on my account, including a Sanyo 8100, which i am still able to use as a modem on the regular Vision network for no additional charge...at least not yet, anyway.
