I won't be charged for the text message right? When I ordered it said $10.00 but the sale price was $0.00. Why doesn't it reflect this in my confirmation email? Thanks

i got the same response once. i dialed this number and it gives me an error. what does this mean? is it there way of saying, "there is no case to check on, i am not doing anything for you"?

I believe so... very unprofessional way to do business. But with such a deal, I really can't complain.. not too much at least.

I finally had some luck with the Sprint CS through e-care. My 50$ invoice never appeared on my first bill. e-care promptly took care of it without further questions, crediting me with 50 dollars.

I've given up on the referral business though. They put me through hell, transferring me back and forth each time promising the right department, and personally it isn't even worth the 25 dollars.

Sending out my rebates soon. Hopefully those will carry through.

good luck to the rest of you!

Don't know about the Treo, but the Mogul is a Battery Hog. I pretty much have to charge mine every night and whenever i'm in the car. I suppose if you are a light user, you can get away with charging it every other night. It is understandable considering this guy is powering a big, bright LCD and a dual core processor with a fairly small battery (1500 maH).

The Mogul is actually great on power. Some 4 hours talk time. You'll get terrible battery performance if you always keep WiFi, Beams, and Bluetooth on. The real power hogs are Beams and WiFi and literally how often do you need them on??? Turn those off when you aren't using and you can go days without recharging and still have incredible talk time.

My Wifi and Bluetooth are always turned off but what are beams? Maybe that causes my weak battery life.

Does the SERO 500 plan include Roaming? or would it have Roaming charges? That is the only answer I am waiting or before I go ahead and get a new sprint line.. Could someone answer please?

i just tried ordering online and i get this message:

"We are unable to process your request at this time due to technical difficulties. Please try again later or contact us at 1-800-639-6114 for assistance."

anybody else have this problem?

To answer Shade45's question: Yes, you could switch phones immediately under the SERO program with no penalties, as I've done it. I swapped my account over to my new Treo 650 that I had on-hand and sold my SERO phone (after verifying the ESN is open). Unless something has changed, the promotion phone will come already setup and activated.

However, I have a different situation that I hope somebody else could answer for me. My mom is opening a SERO account soon and I'm planning to give her my Treo 650 while paying for a Treo 755p through her (I want to be able to use the EVDO speeds when tethering). This means I will be swapping my 650 for her 755p. How will I be able to do this since both phones are active? Could I just call up the CSR with both accounts and have them switch it? Unfortunately, I won't have a third phone lying around. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks.

I did some searching and finally found out where the "beam" option is. Start > Settings > Connections > Beam and then uncheck Receive All Incoming Beams. I just turned mine off although my phone already lasts more than a day on normal use. Anyone know what the function of receiving beams is?

You can use beams for file transferring and even get third party software that allows the infrared port on your device to transmit signals to your TV so you can use it as a remote. Look into a program called VITO Remote.. it's pretty cool.

And by you disabling "Receive all incoming beams", it's not going to change your battery life at all unless you have someone making you use that beam as in they're sending you a file. It doesn't work unless both devices are side to side anyways so it's not like someone can secretly force you to use your beam transfer.

Similar question - I got the Fusic a couple of weeks ago and I want to switch to either the Mogul/Treo755p/Q. Can I just exchange it within the 30 days? How do I do that? Or - My mom is going to get a sero account, can I get her the mogul/treo/q and swap the phones? Also, still debating between the 3 pdaphones...
downsides:
Mogul - touchscreen only, means you need to look to dial, 2 handed operation
Q - Battery life, features
Treo - Not as many features as the Mogul

Any thoughts?

Actually I think it does improve battery life, since it needs to use power to recognize when something is trying to connect. It sure improved battery life for me.

DealSnatcher said: I just got off the phone with Sprint (trying to resolve my 300 anytime account that should have been a sero). Long story short i somehow ordered two and activated the wrong one. Anyway they took the charges off and i didnt even have to listen to that crappy music. It went straight to an operator. the magic line is 1-866-250-2221.

None one believes me, but i think it is karma for all my problems, but for some reason, somehow my monthly charge is only $15. Has anyone else have this? just wondering. Oh and I still am working on getting my free texting/night&weekend at 7. (although they did credit $48.00 to my account for last months Texts). I guess you just need the right person from the call center. my bill went from 131.XX to 10.00

You are under Advantage Club discount which usually means a sprint employee has added you under his account meaning he/she manages your account. Any problems you have like changing the plan or buying a new phone you cannot do it with the any SPRINT CSRs, you need to know who added you under his/her's account and nobody will disclose this info to you concerning privacy. There is an intranet website called iConnect that only Sprint employees have access to manage their or somebody under their account. And also make sure when you login it doesn't show Advantage FF 500 Voice only.

hi, if im on a family plan will this work to keep my current number? i can transfer liability to my own name new contract and cancel before the 30days w/o ETF, then port my number to a 10dollar prepaid and port back to new mogul on sero... has anybody done that before?

Search the thread. Others have reported their "porting" (keyword) experiences and that should give you an idea if you can do it or not.

Absolutely right. If you leave Beams on it is constantly scanning for incoming beams. Beams is even more of a battery hog than WiFi. Definite power saver.

And the Mogul is the way to go in phones by far.

hey everyone i've got a couple questions

im thinking about signing up today. Deciding between two phones. depends on rebates.

Katana DLX 330$ original 130 with sale.
and Motorazr2 v9m 399.99 original 197.99 sale

now, i have some rebates question

Should i use the URANG code to get 50$ on my bill.

now, what rebates can i use on my phones?

Would the kellog 75$ rebate apply to any of the phones? http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/7376/nextelrebatenx6.gif

or this http://www.LetsTalk.com/promo/sprint/SPRINT_MIR_09_03_07.pdf to take 50$ off the katana

Guess we could try these rebates too:

http://www.sprintpcs.com/pages/MY7201-1750.pdf

i activated my sero account but never could get my treo to work (dial out or receive calls). so i mailed back the treo and cancelled the account before the 30 days were up. if i ever receive my refund check, i still would like a sero account. does anyone know if i order again online if i will be given another 30 day trial period?

You just need to dial *82 from your phone and ask to be transfered to a "Tier 2 Porting Specialist". It took less than 5 minutes from when I got in touch with the specialist for me to switch phones. NO, you DO NOT need a third sprint phone.

I signed up online for the $49 plan on the 22nd should have my phone tommorow.
When I logged in to my account the plan details are as follows

SERO F&F 500- $30.0
Plan Features:
Sprint Fair & Flex
Caller ID
Adjustable Anytime Minutes
Call Waiting
Three-way Calling
$30.00 Minimum Monthly Charge
Voicemail
Nationwide Long Distance Included
Unlimited Night & Weekend Mins. Included
Nights: M-Th 7PM-7AM Wknd: F 7PM-M 7AM
Unlimited Mobile to Mobile (pcs to Pcs)

I signed up for $49.99 per month plan but it says $30 plan
Does not display America Roaming, Unlimited Text, Unlimited Sprint Vision or Power Vision details.

Is America Roaming and Unlimited Sprint Vision/Power Vision still included in SERO plans? should I call or email sprint to get this fixed?
Thanks
P

I was able to get my 15% corporate discount on top of my Sero account. When I was getting my 1st Moto Q replaced at my local store, I asked about a corporate discount. The rep at the store put the request in for the discount and I received an email about a week and a half later saying the discount was approved.

If your on the old billing system your in good shape. I have paid $0 since I signed up almost 4 months ago, paid $0 for my treo then exchanged for a mogul, and I got the $100 rebate. I still have a $326 credit. They are so incompetent it is not my problem. GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE!!!

Hi,
I just have two questions for the Sprint Sero Plan.

1) I'm currently under contract with Verizon but this Sero + Mogul is too tempting so I think I'll pay the early term fee of $175 to move over to Sprint. The only thing is, I've never been on Sprint network before and fear for the worst in terms of dropped calls etc. If I get this plan, can I test it for x days then do a port of my verizon # over to Sprint? Or I need to port my phone # at the same time I'm getting the plan?

2) Does anyone know how the network service is for Sprint in NYC (specifically in Queen + Manhanttan) or can direct me to a coverage map?

Thanks.

For those of you who can't get a college or corporate discount, I believe you can get 14% off using the "TruckersB2B" discount. It says it is available to new and existing Sprint and Nextel customers. It says it is for members of TruckersB2B, including family members and friends. And I believe you can sign up to be a TruckersB2B member for free anyway. I haven't signed up yet because I don't have my new account number yet. But here is the info.

Information about it:
http://www.truckersb2b.com/Welcome/ProductsServices/Technology/CellPhoneService/tabid/103/Default.aspx

Here is the link to sign up for the discount if you're an existing SPRINT customer:

As to your first question; when I asked if I would be able to port a number over after activation they said that it would be no problem.

Just let Sprint give you a new phone number which you can test for a 30 day period. After that, port from Verizon if you decide to switch.

I'm pleased with Sprint in the NY tristate area. Above all, I can call from inside my home in Nassau county with Sprint, which I couldn't do with Verizon. Service in Manhattan is excellent, which sould be expected, but in the outer boroughs as well. You'll probably be pleased, but you do have 30 days to be sure.

Do they charge to do this? I have a sprint smartphone (not active) I want to use instead of my new one.

Is America Roaming and Unlimited Sprint Vision/Power Vision still included in SERO plans?
I signed up couple of days back but my order confirmation or account details have these listed?

Just signed up for the 6800, got the unlimited text messages promo too.

All that for $30 a month? My VZW expires in a month, and I get to try Sprint for 30 days then... Port-O-Magic!

I have the sero plan with unlimited power vision. My question is, If I buy one of those EV-DO modem cards for my laptop, would I be able to use my current Unlimited data plan on the laptop or do I need to purchase another account?

I use my phone primarily in Manhattan & Queens and I think the service is just as good as my Verizon line. Several of my friends from Queens were also impressed with my service an referred me when they signed up ($25 bux each time for me). I've been on the road quite a bit the last two months (mostly in the south) and the service has been exceptional. Plus with the free roaming (which may no longer be included with the plan), my phone even works where Sprint's signal is spotty.

Finally, one more thing I found interesting. Yesterday I was at this Target store where for some reason cell phones don't work. My sister's Verizon line was not working inside the store but we were surprised to learn that I could make and receive calls with my Sprint phone. I'll have to say that in the first 3 months of service, I'm pretty impressed with Sprint.

The data plan is separate. It will run you at about $50 per month. Perhaps you'd be better off signing up for the tethering plan, I think it's cheaper.

called sprint and they are no longer taking the original email address posted
a page in the thread mentioned new email addresses, gave the one for california and they took it

got a upstage for my mom as she didn't need anything too fancy

also listed in the thread was a code urang or something like that
mentioned that to the cs and she gave 30 off the next bill

will also get the 25 referral to her as well

thanks again

I just called the 800 twice today, was picked up on the 1st ring and the whole porting process took less than 2 minutes for 2 separate phones.

Very impressed with Sprint's CS.

savings@sprintemi.com still works on the www.sprint.com/sero site.

is there any possible way of porting my number over from sprint w/o ETF... im currently on a family plan (not primary number)... if not i was just thinking about buying the phone full price and activating it on current family plan

yeah, i couldn't get the referral to work either. "due to your account type, you are not eligible for the bonus." i signed up online, if that is of any use to people.

I haven't gotten the referral 25 dollar bonus to work either. I've been through many reps, all of which either had no idea what they were talking about or told me I had sero. I think the referral offer is something that no longer works for people who order online and are automatically put into ensemble.

you are lucky. i did it back in June and was rejected because of SERO.

Signed up for Sero today...on the Sero site and when I signed up it said that it includes "Unlimited Web/Data Access, Unlimited Picture Mail (with compatible devices), and Unlimited Power Pack Text Messages" however when I look at my plan in my sprint account it doesn't list these items...is this normal (for those of you already on the Sero plan)? Does your account list these features? Should I be worried that my account does not itemize these items?

Here is a list of my items:

i have a question regarding the unlimited text. it says Unlimited text messaging included with all plans through 9/29/07. does that mean all new singups before that date will get unlimited text or all sero members will cease to have unlimited text after that date?
