Thank you, OP. You just made my wife's Christmas and in the process saved me what would have been many further hours of shopping bewilderment.

Can anyone tell me what the scooba uses to clean? Is it possible to just different cleaning substances (or even just pure water)? I know some things (like that Swiffer solution, I think) can be harmful to pets. Just checking to see if anyone has any further info. Great deal, though! |

"Clorox® Scooba cleaning solution is a specially formulated cleaning solution that is safe for use in iRobot Scooba. The solution contains no bleach and is designed to be tough enough for cleaning, but safe around children and pets. You can purchase Clorox® Scooba cleaning solution at the iRobot Store.
IMPORTANT: Use only approved cleaning solutions in Scooba. Other solutions may cause excessive foaming, which can hamper Scooba's cleaning performance and cause poor traction. Use of other solutions can reduce the life of the robot and will void the warranty. Clorox® Scooba cleaning solution has been specifically engineered to be safe and effective on hard floor surfaces, including tile, linoleum, vinyl, marble, slate, stone, and sealed hardwood.
Approved Cleaning Solutions iRobot approves using only Clorox® Scooba cleaning solution or 2 oz. of white vinegar with Scooba. iRobot does not assume responsibility for floor damage caused by the use of vinegar on hard floor surfaces.
DO NOT USE SCOOBA ON THESE SURFACES:
Carpet or rugs Unsealed hardwood or stone Laminate flooring (e.g. Pergo®) Scooba is not recommended for use on unfinished or unsealed hard floor surfaces, carpet, rugs or waxed floors. These surfaces may be damaged by water (an unsealed floor does not have a coat of polyurethane to protect the sub-flooring from water damage). Additionally, Scooba is not safe for use with laminate flooring which may be damaged by wet cleaning methods.
Tip: When using Scooba on sealed hardwood floors, inspect the floor surface for worn finish, bare wood, or separated and unsealed joints. Do not use Scooba on your hardwood floor if any of these conditions exist. Follow the floor manufacturer's cleaning recommendations."

I just use a non bleach no rinse solution (I assume it's very diluted ammonium solution in which extra NH3 evaporates quickly after cleaning) that I got from dollar store. I have four cats so I don't want to use chlorox. Instead something very lite. It Works great on my apartment floor. Tap water should work too. It may get confused one or two times based on my experience, but a restart cured the service light. I think anything lighter than the bundled chlorox solution should not do any damage to your scooba. |

When you use the fatwallet link you are redirected to the site through fatwallets referral. The site you are buying from has the data to see that. They send your info back to fatwallet within a couple of days and it shows up. |

Oops! An error occurred while processing your request.
Back to My Account Anyone else have this? When I go back to my google account it says it's processing but when I click on the order it says error. I think i'll give it a day to see if it sorts itself out.Text |

this sounds great!
I have been thinking about getting a Roomba/Scoomba for some time.
Which do you think would be best? My entire first floor is hardwood floors with 3 large area rugs in different rooms. I have an Australian Sheppherd who drops TONS of hair.
Should I just go for the highest end Roomba for now so it covers the rugs and the hardwood floor, or does the Scooba do a decent job of picking up the hair on the harwood floor as well and use the lesser quality Roomba that comes with it?
Thanks FW!
