I placed an order with this free ipod skin and got the discount. Went back to check similar item and the promotion again appeared at the last page of my order summary. So its definitely not one time offer .. I love Amazon.

You don't have to have prime to get the $5 promo discount. Prime just gives you shipping on any price order. If you are not Prime, just buy something over $25 to get free shipping.

I couldn't really find anything worth purchasing over $25, so I just bought the 7th Harry Potter book and "paid" for standard shipping, so my total ended up being $2 cheaper than the list price because of the coupon.

Sweet deal for CD's and paperback books if you have prime. In for three items. Of course I fully expect them to cancel. Hopefully they don't try to charge the full amount, but I have received e-mails on all three noting the "sale" price.

When Macy's canceled things out of stock, they credited everyone with $5 to Amazon. How do you think Amazon will deal with this? Hundreds of orders is very tricky. In for one. <3

Same question. They may cancel it for those that abuse it. For example, placing many orders on the same account or buying something for a little over $5 - $5 Promo and using Prime, etc.
I am sure some people will totally abuse this and that may cause Amazon to review the orders...
I placed 3 orders, all of which correctly showed the discount. 2 of them shipped, but the 3rd one was for Kaspersky AV, which was backordered at the time with a ship date of March. I noticed it was back in stock today, but my ship date was still March, so I emailed them about bumping it. They wrote back and very kindly upgraded me to 2nd day shipping for free, but when they did so, the $5 discount disappeared . Any suggestion on how to get it back? Last I read here, people were having trouble convincing the CSR's that the discount existed to begin with.
On the bright side, the order did ship today via UPS 2nd day air.
