Uggh, paid $50 more from Dell not 3 weeks ago. Guess I could try to get a price adjustment, but doesn't seems worth it considering the trouble. I imagine by the time the CSRs are available again tomorrow, this deal will be over.

No, Canon CMOS sensors are superior to the Sony sensors used in comprable Nikon, Pentax, and Sony DSLRs in my opinion (better high ISO performance). CMOS sensors are good enough for the Canon 1Ds Mark II, a very nice $7000 DSLR. I'd be more concerned about the quality of the kit lens.
