Well crap mah pants, it's OOS.
This is the deal I've been waiting for, for nearly a year. If only I'd thought to check FW last night before bed! This laptop would have been a speed demon compared to the P2-366 w/192MB it would be replacing. Oh well, maybe some other time. |

Hmm.. is there anyway to order over the phone, and pickup in store? I don't remember if that is a possibility with CompUSA. |

I just got back from the Fairlawn, Ohio store. They opened this morning at 10 and I got there at 10:10. One of the guys said they had 8 but they were all gone except for the display, which I snagged. The auto-10% off was valid...the guy said it was on "all laptops". He also mentioned this laptop was a "red tag clearance" item so they won't be getting anymore. Nevertheless, I got one so thanks OP. No problem. I even asked the guy if the employees had set any aside for themselves but he said no. I hope my floor model won't be a dud. |

Ugh, deal is not so great without Save10, but still tempting because I need to get something better than my P-II.
After tax and after rebate, without Save10, it's only $20 cheaper than the one at Fry's. Anyone know if a 1.6GHz Celeron M Merom is any faster than a 1.86GHz Celeron M Yonah? All I've been able to find are Merom is a newer and possibly better core than Yonah. |

I can't believe they allowed online ordering again, but removed the coupon. Previously in the thread, one member reported that when he bought it in store, the 10% discount was auto-applied because it was for all laptops.
Actually, I take that back. I'm not surprised, it's CompUSA. |

I have three laptops in the house right now, all were under $500, and all work perfectly. Except the Presario 2100's battery is completely shot after several years of hard use. Counting the ones I resold for $50 or less under purchase price after using them for about 6-9 months, I've had eight laptops under $500 in the last five years or so. Four of the eight are Compaq, one HP.
I wouldn't buy a refurbished laptop, ever, unless it was marked down around 50% or more, and certainly not for over $500 in any case. Different preferences for different people, I guess. |
