I don't see anywhere on the site that says it has to be JCPenny.
I would rather buy them at Costco anyway since they are generally much cheaper.
But I do see the JCPenny logo on the page. |

BudgetingMom said:I'm flexible with cities/dates....but would want to travel with my hubby. 2 vouchers are allowable per address, BUT having to submit 3 possible itineraries, what is the chance that we would even get vouchers going to the same place, let alone on the same flight??? It worked fine for my g/f and I. We just got back from a trip to Washington D.C. from SoCal. Booked it thru this same agency via the Mercury Test Drive promotion already mentioned. We called first and were told to put both forms in one envelope, make the itinerary cities/dates the same, and note we wish to travel together. An agent called us after the forms were received and worked with us to get us the flights that worked the best. They charged us $100 each in taxes and fees. We flew US Airways and were even able to get frequent flyer miles by inputting our plan numbers online after the reservation was confirmed. |

$100 each tax seems high, I thought the fee and tax is about 25%. If I have no use of the pants and the tax is $100, the total would be $225, a cheapest ticket is around $250 after fee and tax, and you have alot more choices for destinations.

Great find OP. Between my fiance and my father, I am sure I can rack up a couple hundred dollars in Dockers wear. It is definitely worth a try. |

Putting in a random week in September from LAX to Washington (Dulles) in Orbitz returns a total cost of $236 per person on US Air. $26 of that is listed as taxes and fees, $5 of which will be Orbitz booking fee, so the taxes for a direct LAX-IAD round trip are about $21. Looks like they added some extra booking fees to put about $80 in their pocket.
Domestic ticket taxes are typically $10 to $50 depending on where you fly, how many stops, etc. I don't think I've ever seen a domestic itinerary come close to $100.
Still not a bad price, but I don't think I would try it with all of the restrictions.
Also, if you book and decide not to go after it is ticketed, you should be able to get the true taxes back from the airline or travel agent. You probably won't get any fees the agency adds on, but whatever would be given to the government or airport authorities should be refundable. |

Like I said, the agent worked with us get flights that worked best and got us the same flights. For example, she let us choose Reagan National or Dulles airports in D.C. I understand they charged more than the "real" taxes and fees, but $100 R/T coast to coast can't be beat. |

If you go to that site, ATL is listed. My question is they also list my small town airport-Chattanooga-as one of the departure cities. I know that if I fly out of chattanooga rather than ATL, the plane ticket is about $200 more. I called the Free Dockers Flight concierge service and asked her will the fee be more expensive than if I fly out of Chattanooga rather than ATL? She didn't have answer to that. She did tell me I need to make the purchase at JC Penny. She said the fee is based on whatever airport charges.

If you buy Dockers shoes, do you still have to remove them at the airport at security check? |

This promotion has Chico as a departure city and LA as a destination. So how can it be done for $125 round trip? Heck, the gas is more than that!
Admittedly, taxes do take up a great portion of the air fare, but still.
If legit, this is a good deal for retired persons. They got plenty of time. Heck, it would be an adventure!
The average passenger pays less than $300 RT from ORD to LAX. There are business travelers and others on those same flights paying $1,000.00 or more for a last minute bookings, refundable tickets, last minute changes, first class and a variety of other reasons. The airlines fill their planes with more that 50% of their passengers flying below the airlines cost so they can make a profit on a few people like they did on your mom.
Please read my post again. I didn't say Chicago, IL (ORD), I said Chico, CA (tiny hick town). In the 8 passenger plane she took from Chico to Sacramento, there was only two other passengers and someone's dog. |

I am not sure if it would work or not, but if you pull up mens dockers on their web-site, it shows luggage. It might be worth a try.
I should have looked first:
Qualifying Purchases: Purchase $125 or more of men’s Dockers® apparel and/or accessories only (does not apply to women’s apparel, eyewear or luggage) (“Qualifying Purchases”) (pre-tax amount after application of all discounts, if any). Retain the ORIGINAL sales receipt or on-line receipt with order number and circle the eligible items
IN for the class action settlement!

This is the same company that handled the Mercury test drive promo. It took 5 months to get our hotel awards. I actually had to go to their offices to get them to get my husbands hotel booked.
I am sure these are going to be early morning flights. |

If you live in the middle of nowhere and your airport is in the departure airport list, this is great offer.
Lowest possible December fare CMX-LAX is $414.80 (with taxes)
I will just choose Vegas, Frisco or LA and drive around. I wanted to visit all those anyways.
And since I am grad student I have long winter break.
Thanks OP! |
