Looks like Newegg buyers are the ones getting screwed, myself included.

Got from Amazon, recieved check 9/7.

Estimated 6 week wait, yet it tool 12 wks.

My first HP rebate, not a good impression.

At least you got it. Most of Newegg buyers got rejected.

I also got a rejection in the mail over the weekend and since I was the OP on this want wanted to comment. I called this morning, got right in and explained that the person I talked to, a few weeks back, in the rebate office confirmed the final price with me and that I asked her in 4 different ways if the rebate was going to be approved and she confirmed to all 4 options. They are having a supervisor call me back. I'll update once they do.

Newegg buyers with declined rebate status, check it online again, www.web-rebates.com. Mine turned from "declined due to special pricing" to "processing" with a rebate received date of 9/11/07. WTF, my rebate was sent in June. Maybe all the BBB complaints got their attention and they are redoing all the declined rebates?

Thanks for notifying. Mine also shows processing after getting rejection letter due to "special pricing "
After showing it yesterday "Processing" the status says my rebate is approved and at stage 2

Good news! Just got a call from Young America (HP Rebate Processing Center) and a lady left a message that HP decided to honour my rebate even though it had previously been rejected because of the special pricing. Printer was bought from AMOF. According to the message, I should get a check by September, 30th.

I got an e-mail last night stating that my rebate was being processed and to expect a check in the mail in the next 4 weeks. I also had a voicemail at work today stating that they would approve my previously declined rebate as an exception, in order to maintain HP customer loyalty.

If anybody is interested in the toll-free follow up number, I can post it here.
