I did not catch any restrictions in the rebate form on where the printer maybe purchased; Is there anything I am not seeing?
I don't need to spend $80 on a laserJet when I can simply spend $25 for a new black inkJet cartridge...but if it is truly at $15.49 - hmmmm?

Just ordered and site took all my cc info then a couple of pages flashed by including the customer satisfaction survey before I got a page saying my cart was empty and order confirmation was not available-- check my email. Still waiting but it sounds like these went fast. Only available for delivery. HEADS UP everyone, the HP rebate requires purchase by June 30th.

Got my confirmation for 3 I ordered, even used AAA 10% off coupon.

This is the same as the Quill situation. Maybe HP will change their mind but the rebate is a huge YMMV.
Yup...I decided not to and I also have 3 new ones still in the box from previous deals.

I'm curious....the receipt says nothing about special pricing and the only saving I saw was the $50 rebate. Seems like many have purchased this printer from CC in other threads and no one has mentioned CC being a problem. I read about the Quill situation but I would think if CC was a similar problem it would have been posted in the many different threads on this deal.
Just spoke with HP rebate center.(I was checking a store to see if they were an "authorized reseller") They are already onto this rebate. The rep. I spoke with read a memo from the corp. office that was sent to all rebate centers and reps., basically the rebate is ONLY good for printers purchased at the full price of $129.99. Even if your receipt does not indicate that it was on "special" it does not matter. She said they look to the purchase price and if it is below 129.99 then it is considered a "markdown" thus making any rebate offer VOID.

That confirms what everyone else has been reporting. HP has chosen to play hardball with us and refuse any rebate at less then MSRP.
How's a "reasonable and prudent person" to know what special pricing is when HP failed to spell it out in the rebate form T's and C's. I think HP would loose in court if it every came to that.

Its going to be be very difficult to deny ALL these rebates by adding additional terms after the fact. In the thread in Expired Deals one person has already reported getting approved on a Buy.com purchase. Could it be just be a CSR scare tactic ?

out of curiosity, was there ANY retailer that was offering this for $130? it seems that the printer was marked down in some manner everywhere.
I am going by the terms spelled out in the rebate. If they want to argue that I received this printer under "special pricing", I will leave it up to the attorney general's office to decide. Seems a little too ambiguous.

If you can get an attorney general to listen to this case, you will be my hero.
can't cancel my order online right now, says it's shipping (even though it says it'll ship tomorrow right under that). any advice?

There may be a way around all of this. There seem to be two different rebates currently being offered for this printer. One rebate (#2502 50% off) specifically mentions "special pricing". Arguably, a case could be made that the discount offered by CC under these rebate terms would negate the rebate.
However, there is a second rebate offered here ... http://h30014.www3.HP.com/offers/us/detail.asp?id=1409&tab=5#tab.
Terms of this rebate state "offer is not combinable with any other national HP offers". The discount offered by CC clearly states that it is a CC discount not an HP one so the limitation would not apply.
Additionally is states that " this offer is not combinable with resellers offers." However, CC is not a reseller but a retailer so the discount offered by them would theoretically be allowed.
The key here is to apply for the $64.50 rebate NOT the 50% off rebate. Oh, BTW... it seems that the $64.50 rebate is good only on printers purchased between 6/24/07-6/30/07. What do ya think? I think this would fly!

Just ordered one from CC. Thanks OP. I firmly believe the newer rebate form that doesn't mention 50% will work. There is nothing in the terms they can deny us.
