If you can wait, rather do the same deal during BF time, when the price of laptop is lower than now. |

i count upward of 40 rebates... might do it just for the sheer challenge... btw, the printer is not in as it expires today. The ad preview clearly stated that there was a free printer AR. Could be the same printer with different rebate that starts tomorrow, could be a different printer. OP deserves a green for the nice find if someone can pull it all off, plus for the work putting all the figures together. |

I guess OP must be an employee of USPS. But have to say it is really tempting for me. circiutcity said:Warning!!! Not for the rebate shy. Once more, NOT for the rebate shy.
Starting tomorrow, Stap1es will have the Compaq F572US (SKU 703693) for $479.98 with a $30 ER.
Specs include: AMD Athlon ™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TK-53 (1.7GHz) processor 1GB installed memory 80GB Hard Drive Super Multi 8X DVDñR/RW with Double Layer Support 15.4" WXGA High-Definition Brightview Widescreen (1280 X 800) Display
Several Mcafee and Norton software have ER, MIR, MIR when upgrading, and MIR when purchased with a PC. All applicable rebates can be found in mcafeerebates.com and symantecrebates.com respectively. In many cases, the total rebates exceed the purchase price. So when bought with this laptop (or any other PC from Stap1es), these software will decrease the AR price of the entire purchase.
Norton Antivirus 2007 (SKU 656403), $39.99 $30 MIR when purchased with PC, requires original UPC (06-53579) $30 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es, no UPC required (06-53582) $20 MIR when upgrading, requires original POP (06-53468)
Norton Internet Security (SKU 656406), $69.99 $40 MIR when purchased with PC, requires original UPC (06-53581) $40 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es, no UPC required (06-53583) $20 MIR when upgrading, requires original POP (06-53467)
McAfee Viruscan Plus (SKU 656944), $39.99 $10 ER when purchased at Stap1es $20 MIR when upgrading $30 MIR when purchased with PC $30 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es
Mcafee Total Protectin Plus (SKU), $79.99 $25 ER when purchased at Stap1es $45 MIR when purchased with PC $35 MIR when upgrading
McAfee Total Protection Plus 3-User (SKU 656950), $89.99 $30 ER when purchased at Stap1es $45 MIR when upgrading $55 MIR when purchased with PC
McAfee PC Protection Plus (SKU 656945), $49.99 $10 ER when purchased at Stap1es $20 MIR when upgrading $30 MIR when purchased with PC $30 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es
McAfee Internet Security 3-User (SKU 656948), $89.99 $30 ER when purchased at Stap1es $45 MIR when upgrading $55 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es
Purchase all these software for $459.93 and get $725 in MIRs. The laptop itself is $479.98 less $30 in rebates. The tally would then be $939.91 + tax - $755 in rebates = $184.91 + tax. Use whatever coupons to sweeten the pot.
As I do not use Norton or Mcafee software, I gave them away. You can opt to E-bay/Craigslist/sell them if you want to lower the overall price of the deal even more.
I did a similar deal 2 weeks ago and all my rebates are now in the valid and processing stage, so I know this works. However, this deal is not for everyone. In fact, it's not for a lot of people. Maybe it's just for me. A ton of MIRs are involved. So don't even try this if you're not competent in submitting, tracking, and following-up rebates.
Many of you might say that this is not a good deal because of the rebate work invovled. That's ok. Finding combo deals with MIRs is a hobby of mine and I actually enjoy it. Plus, getting a dual core laptop with 1Gb of RAM and Vista Premium for around $200 (AR, tax included) is a pretty good deal IMHO.
***Edited for correction. There is only 1 $30 rebate for the Compaq laptop. The rebate form in the Compaq website is the same offer number as the one in the Stap1es website. |

I hope you are on the black list of every store you shopped at and get escorted out every time you step foot in their stores. It's good that people like you that prompted many stores to install softwares to track rebates and return abusers. LOL! I was only joking. It might just be icing on the cake on top of McAfee/Norton Rebate Abuse. And that just might be a moot point since most people will not surviving doing all these rebate before going rebate postal. - |

One more edit. Do not forget the price of stamps. Around 40 rebates cost at least $16. |

Does anyone know how the processor would compare to a Pentium M 2.0? I've got a Dell that's about a 1.5 years old and was thinking of possibly taking the plunge. I should be able to pull out my 2 gigs of RAM and 100 GB hard drive from the inspiron and move it into this one. |

stilz said:For the Norton 360, the upgrade rebate and the purchase w/ PC rebate both require original UPC.Yikes he's right, looks like ALL the 360 rebates require original UPC, so strike that one. I removed from QS and added this one: McAfee Internet Security (SKU 656947), $69.99 $20 ER when purchased at Stap1es $30 MIR when upgrading $40 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es If you do ALL of these it's almost 50 rebates (I count 47), so add $20 for postage!! LOL. |
