Warning!!! Not for the rebate shy. Once more, NOT for the rebate shy.

Starting tomorrow, Stap1es will have the Compaq F572US (SKU 703693) for $479.98 with a $30 ER.

Specs include:
AMD Athlon ™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TK-53 (1.7GHz) processor
1GB installed memory
80GB Hard Drive
Super Multi 8X DVDñR/RW with Double Layer Support
15.4" WXGA High-Definition Brightview Widescreen (1280 X 800) Display

Several Mcafee and Norton software have ER, MIR, MIR when upgrading, and MIR when purchased with a PC. All applicable rebates can be found in mcafeerebates.com and symantecrebates.com respectively. In many cases, the total rebates exceed the purchase price. So when bought with this laptop (or any other PC from Stap1es), these software will decrease the AR price of the entire purchase.

Norton Antivirus 2007 (SKU 656403), $39.99
$30 MIR when purchased with PC, requires original UPC (06-53579)
$30 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es, no UPC required (06-53582)
$20 MIR when upgrading, requires original POP (06-53468)

Norton Internet Security (SKU 656406), $69.99
$40 MIR when purchased with PC, requires original UPC (06-53581)
$40 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es, no UPC required (06-53583)
$20 MIR when upgrading, requires original POP (06-53467)

McAfee Viruscan Plus (SKU 656944), $39.99
$10 ER when purchased at Stap1es
$20 MIR when upgrading
$30 MIR when purchased with PC
$30 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es

Mcafee Total Protectin Plus (SKU), $79.99
$25 ER when purchased at Stap1es
$45 MIR when purchased with PC
$35 MIR when upgrading

McAfee Total Protection Plus 3-User (SKU 656950), $89.99
$30 ER when purchased at Stap1es
$45 MIR when upgrading
$55 MIR when purchased with PC

McAfee PC Protection Plus (SKU 656945), $49.99
$10 ER when purchased at Stap1es
$20 MIR when upgrading
$30 MIR when purchased with PC
$30 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es

McAfee Internet Security 3-User (SKU 656948), $89.99
$30 ER when purchased at Stap1es
$45 MIR when upgrading
$55 MIR when purchased with PC at Stap1es

Purchase all these software for $459.93 and get $725 in MIRs. The laptop itself is $479.98 less $30 in rebates.
The tally would then be $939.91 + tax - $755 in rebates = $184.91 + tax. Use whatever coupons to sweeten the pot.

As I do not use Norton or Mcafee software, I gave them away. You can opt to E-bay/Craigslist/sell them if you want to lower the overall price of the deal even more.

I did a similar deal 2 weeks ago and all my rebates are now in the valid and processing stage, so I know this works. However, this deal is not for everyone. In fact, it's not for a lot of people. Maybe it's just for me. A ton of MIRs are involved. So don't even try this if you're not competent in submitting, tracking, and following-up rebates.

Many of you might say that this is not a good deal because of the rebate work invovled. That's ok. Finding combo deals with MIRs is a hobby of mine and I actually enjoy it. Plus, getting a dual core laptop with 1Gb of RAM and Vista Premium for around $200 (AR, tax included) is a pretty good deal IMHO.

***Edited for correction. There is only 1 $30 rebate for the Compaq laptop. The rebate form in the Compaq website is the same offer number as the one in the Stap1es website.

***Edited title to reflect potential FAR deal if purchased with CA software as well. Refer to deal summary right after this post for complete list of items and rebates.

That's brilliant. Not going to do it, but I certainly applaud the time you put into it.

cashier better first put a brand new paper roll in order to print tons of rebate and receipt.
don't forget sales tax is another $80 for most of the people.

LOL! Actually, Stap1es will only print out the easy rebates. All the other rebates can be found and registered at mcafeerebates.com and symantecrebates.com

that's hardcore lol.. 20+ in rebates

hey whats the limit on those upgrade, norton and mcafee products
thanks

green for the deal, green for spending time changing names such as Stap1es, green for the brave soul

Looks good but I got screwd on previous intivirus deal...good great deal if it works

Beware, norton & Mcafee has limits per year.

Also when purchased as Staples and mfr rebates seem to be duplicate. it may not fly. Put YMMV in your title, op. Thanks for ur effort though.

Edit2: we can also buy FAR printer with compaq laptop.

In the list of rebates for the antivirus softwares, are there a few easy rebates, thanks

with all those software rebates, sounds like this deal is better then the bestbuy deal of $449, being that this one is an AMD.

Wow - that is truly amazing!

Good warning -- not sure I qualify for that.

One question: How do I qualify for the 'Upgrade' rebates -- does the lappy come with those software packages pre-installed? How do I provide proof-of-upgrade?

I'm not sure what limits you're talking about. These are all different software, and all rebates go to different departments. If you haven't submitted the same rebates before, then you should be eligible for these. Additionally, as I mentioned above, I did this deal 2 weeks ago and all my Symantec and Mcafee rebates are now showing up online as valid and processing.

Norton Antivirus 2007 (SKU 656403),

McAfee Viruscan Plus (SKU 656944),
$20 MIR when upgrading

Mcafee Total Protectin Plus (SKU),
$35 MIR when upgrading

McAfee Total Protection Plus 3-User (SKU 656950)
$45 MIR when upgrading

McAfee PC Protection Plus (SKU 656945)
$20 MIR when upgrading

McAfee Internet Security 3-User (SKU 656948)
$45 MIR when upgrading

For those who do not have old softwar, they will missing out $205, right?

You can use norton for mcafee upgrades and vice versa.

Easy enough, use the other software that you bought as your proof of upgrade. For example, use the Norton Antivirus CD or title page as proof of upgrade for the McAfee Antivirus.

Wow! What's your SAT score in math?

green for me...i like a challenge...

Green for the sheer complexity of this. I won't do it, but I really like it.

do I need to purchase the laptop and all the softwares in one transaction? or can it be done in multiple transaction so that coupons might be used for separate transaction? any idea? thanks.

That's insane. I wonder how many of them will be honored.
good luck

W@W!

we can also buy FAR printer with compaq laptop.

do you mind sharing it ?

Well, if you are a seasoned FWer, you would have baught most of these softwares either during BF or tax deals or in some other deal as filler. Most of these rebates are with same offer numbers effective rom Sep. 2006, so you have to be careful that you have not used up these rebates before. Unofficially Norton has upgrade limit of 3 for each s/w. I am not sure about PC. Mcafee has limit of one upgrade per offer number.

If you want more money back, look for CA rebates also

Good point. I'll add this warning to the wiki. People have to be sure they have not used the same rebate offer# before. Or use a different address if they already have.

green for the effort

This must be a record as far as sheer number of rebates on a deal

WTG, OP!

I don't really understand the upgrade rebates? I have never purchased any Nortorn or Mcafee Software ever. Can I still walk in there tomorrow and buy all of these things and get all of the rebates you mentioned?

TIA

WTH, I'm a sucker for punishment. IN! ytd rebate total, 2432.xx. Let's push it a bit higher.
Thanks, OP!!

I've not used any of these software rebates in years, I'm going for it.

Outstanding deal with a lot of work, OP. Does anyone think this will all be available tomorrow at Staples.com, or is it instore only?

EDIT: Looks like you could add Norton 360 to the list, which costs $79.99 and has $20 ER, $40 upgrade, and $40 w/PC rebates to get another $20 (-tax) back.

Thanks.

as far as i can tell, this is good online or B&M, right?
So I can do all of this in he comfort of my jammies tomorrow morning?

Green for OP. I bow down to your brilliance. Just did the math for California and with 8.25% Los Angeles CA sales tax, it would total something like this:

Laptop $479.98 + $39.60 tax = $519.58
AVirus $459.93 + $37.94 tax = $497.87
--------------------------------------
Total before rebates $1017.45
Minus Rebates -$ 725.00
-----------
Final CA total after rebates $ 292.45

No matter how you slice it, even with credit card interest for 3-4 months (max time for most rebates to arrive), this is still a great deal for a dual core laptop with 1gb ram, dvd burner, 80gb hard drive, Nvidia 6150 ("BEST" integrated laptop graphics) and 15.4 WXGA(1280x800) display IF you can wait out the rebate period and keep records of all rebates for any necessary follow up. Follow up will likely be inevitable with this many rebates.

Ohhhh i may regret this...but i have my parents free stamps and envelopes

innnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

(i still dont understand the "upgrade software" ones...if anyone has any insight on the proof..please tell)

I've never done it but I believe they are saying you can use the MCafee for upgrade for the Norton and Norton for upgrade for the MCafee.

Can anyone share the info for the FAR printer?
Thanks!
