Well UPS delivered mine yesterday. No damage at all. I thought they would have shipped it with a bottle of oil but there was none in the box. No worries, I filled the crankcase with some 10w-30, filled the gas tank, pressed the primer 3 times and it fired on the first pull. That's why I love the Tecumsehs! I took it for a test spin. The Sense a Speed thing takes some getting used to but this is a great lawnmower for the money. Thanks again OP! |

The box arrived yesterday, and it looked like it been through a rugby match. No oil or manual - slightly disappointing. Mower seems functionally sound, although I haven't fired it up yet. |

You can download all of the manuals from lawnboy.com and register there as well. In fact, it doesn't come with a parts manual but it is available for download. |

My box came beat up as well; however, nothing was damaged inside. I used it today. Let me say I love this mower. The sense a speed thing is soooooo cool. It works really nice IMHO. Anyway thanks OP. Nice mower! |

Unless you run into a freak deal at HD or Lowes with some kind of unadvertised clearance deal, you will not beat this price. This is truly a quality mower for a great price. OP gets the nomination for "Hottest of hottest on FW" in my book! |

I don't know too much about lawn mowers but how does these two compare? Lawn Boy 10655 Link vs. Lawn Boy 10686 Link One has the honda engine and the other has the electric start. both cost about the same. Which one is a better buy? Thanks! |

The 10655 model is a 2005 "Gold" series model. That is why the price is similar to the new 2007 10686 Insight "Silver" model. The 10655 is a good mower with what I consider a better engine. Downside for me on this mower is that it is a steel deck. OTherwise a good mower for the money. |

Would the fact that 10686 has a electric start and sense a pace be better value? Folks here also mention OHV engine and I don't if either one has that. Thanks! |

Both have the personal pace/sens-a-speed RWD propulsion. On the 2005 models it is more of an exact copy of the Toro personal pace setup rather than the re-tooled sens-a-speed for the newer models. I think the newer sens-a-speed design fit better with the design of the comfort grips of the lawnboy brand. The Honda GCV160 is an OHC/OHV engine and is in my opinion a better engine than the Tecumseh engine. It is quieter, more fuel efficient and more reliable (IMO) than the tecumseh engine. With gas running about 3 bucks a gallon you'll get more mowing done with the same amount of gas with the Honda engine. |
