Ordered one. I sure hope this complicated mower doesn't break easy. Thanks OP

Ooh, thanks! I just emailed for a price adjustment.

I have this mower and got it a little over a year ago .. still working fantastic.

Never use the bag or the side discharge always mulch attachment because I am lazy and have a small yard.

One thing to note on this mower is it is very self propelled it moves fairly fast when you hold it down and seems to be powerful enough to go up a steep hill in my backyard with no effort from me. I think I paid like ~300 after tax and got it locally at home depot I want to say when they hada sale but that was last year and I am forgetful.

I had to put my two cents in. I could not find in the desription whether this was a front or rear wheel drive mower. If you have a flat lawn then front wheel is fine and I would seriously look at this one:
http://www.Amazon.com/Yard-21-Inch-6-75-Self-Propelled-Mower/dp/B000CSQA9U/ref=sr_1_5/104-8202234-9128722?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1186755865&sr=1-5
For $168 this is a steal. The problem with a front wheel drive mower is when you go up hills.
The weight is on the rear wheels when you mow up hill and rear wheel drive works better. I do not see what dirrerence a OHV makes when going up a hill, but rear wheel drive really makes a difference.

Thanks op.. requested price adjustment

how do i do a price adjustment

The personal pace/sens-a-speed propulsion is RWD. As far as the OHV statement I made i qualified that in a later post about heavy growth on the hills and gas prices.

To do a price adjustment I usually use Amazon's customer service phone link. You can find it under the "help" portion of the site. There should be a button for "customer service" on the right.

Cord? This is a gas powered mower. It is however a recoil starter so you have to pull a starting cord to start the engine. Here is a link to all the Lawnboy mowers:

From what I can see Lawnboy is dropping the 10687 and only going to sell the 10686. I'm guessing the blade clutch system wasn't a big seller in the silver series of mowers.

This one looks REALLY good ... should I get it instead of my electric one ....

Go for it! Plus it is 20 pounds less than the Lawn Boy. Less weight to manuever when not using self propulsion - like in tight turns and around obstacles.

However, the reviews do not look so good. It seems that the engine has some reliability issues...

well after researching ,seems to me the rear wheel drive will be alot better for my yard.It has 3 pain in the but hills plus i got 7 years out of my Murray Push High wheel mower ,so this should be like butter on a roll

Question about this mower for those that have ordered and received it-

Received mine yesterday, came in with no damage (this is good). However the manual mentions a shield that goes over the grass shooter do hicky () on the right hand side for if you don't want to bag/mulch. The manual makes it sound like it should be included as it talks about installing it. Mine did not include this, and I was wondering if anyone else received it with theirs?

While I already own a John Deere mulching mower, it has seen some better days since my kid started using it to earn money cutting neighbors lawns. This deal is pretty hard to pass up. I usually like examining my lawn mower purchases up close and personal, this price is just too good for a decent Lawn Boy mower. I went for it. It's hard to beat. Similar lawn mowers in Lowes and HD are selling for at least $160 more.

I'm not a huge fan of the personal pace type systems, but I can live with it for the price, features and quality that come with Lawn Boy.

Are you saying that it came with a hole in the side deck for side discharge? Or is there a plastic chute on the mower? You should be able to remove the chute and there should be a spring loaded hinged door that will cover the hole where the chute is installed. I think there is a knob or something that locks the chute into place, you'll need to unlock it in order to remove the chute.

Yea i ordered this one and it came in with trans oil all over the place and both back wheels broken =(. You are better off going and getting one at a store.

The shield was already installed when mine arrived today. It came in two days and in perfect condition!!!! Thanks OP!!

Will match perfectly with the new snowblower I got early this spring for $250!!

Found what I was looking for in regards to the chute, thx for the help guys.

Got to put the mower thru some paces this afternoon. Have to say I'm very impressed and pleased with the purchase. If I had to pick something to complain about, it would be that if you get too close to something on the right hand side of the mower (where the chute cover is) it has a tendancy to get pushed up away from the mower body relatively easily, then grass shoots out from whatever opening it creates. Outside of that, and getting used to the personal pace system (which I do like, but it is different) it's freakin great!

You should be able to lock the cover in place with the knob by the side discharge door.

alert mods

Yes, you can lock it in place but the entire cover is only plastic. If you bump it, it moves forward/backward just enough for grass to start spraying out.
