Where's it cheaper now? By your logic, half the threads on the forum would be closed because you could get it cheaper yesterday/last week/last month/last year.
Not saying it *is* a hot deal, but bringing up a reference with a price that is no longer valid isn't going to win you any arguments.
Not only does it have the * stating it may not be as pictured... there's a disclaimer about the donation as well:
Notice: Due to unforeseeable circumstances. Because of squabbling over charitable donations. Our Statement claiming we will donate proceeds from the “Vick Dog Chew Toy“ has been removed. We will now do so anonymously. However we urge you to continue supporting your local animal shelters, and do something to STOP animal abuse.
Does that mean they will not donate the proceeds? Do so "anonymously" as in keeping the cash?
I don't like this because for everyone of these sold Michael Vick will get a royaltie from the sale of his likeness. I don't want to put a penny in that scumbag's pocket so think about it before you buy one.

The disclaimer on the website look VERY suspect. "Anonymous donation."
Also, a random rant: I like the fact that the Vick case has been highly publicized and is getting people to donate to animal shelters. BUT! there are PEOPLE (human beings) who are suffering all around the world. Please donate to organizations like the Red Cross as well as to your local animal shelters.
pitbu11 said: Are there any for chew toys for PETA ? I'd like to know as well. I'm tired of these people/celebrities/hippies throwing their money away at this organization without doing proper research on what exactly they do.

Is Vick from China???
If Vick is from China, then I am not buying him. I do not want my dog to die from lead poisoning.

How do you know this? I doubt that the people representing Vick have entered into an agreement to license his name and likeness for this item. Seems like they'll be shut down by legal threats/an actual lawsuit soon enough.

In for 1 for my bro. He ate my homework. This will prevent one from happening.
This product is definitely against the law. Both trademark violation and appropriation claims. You can't just use someone's name/likeness for commercial gain except for "news" situations.

I just cant wait for a CompUSA/Lenovo/Staples/OfficeMax CSR chew toy That doesn't make any sense. There's little humor in this. There is an off-topic forum for anyone who wants to lighten up.
I notified the mods earlier, and got a reply back that the thread would remain, for now, because the item is still a deal. Huh? Where's the deal? Has someone found this chew toy costs $25 everywhere else? I didn't think so.
Every time FW allows a silly thread to stay in the HD forum (the cig dispensing donkey is another good example), credibility is lost. One could begin to argue that any kind of ridiculous "deal" should be posted here.

Funny, but this is an illegal product.
I wonder where this guy got his law degree. There are exceptions for public comment on public figures who have gotten them selves into various legal predicaments and in this case Mr Vick would compound his problems by saying anything. Any ASUA will nail him on Aiding and Abetting and any activity of the kind to restrain public comment can get you bonus points for failure to accept responsibility in calculating the seriousness of the crime and increase the range of the sentence under the federal sentencing guidelines. The key remains that it was Mr. Vicks house and since he let it happen. The DOJ prosecutors manual provides for using the "ostrich" charge where by yu are guilty if you hide your head in the sand. "Finally, where aiding and abetting an attempt is charged, it may be appropriate to propose a "conscious avoidance" or "ostrich" instruction. See United States v. Valencia, 907 F.2d 671, 679-80 (7th Cir. 1990)." DOJ Criminal Manual

It looks like this website is a total scam. I bought one of these August 7th, and still haven't gotten one. From what I've read on www.vickdogchewtoySCAM.com, it looks like these crooks made away with millions in the name of preventing animal abuse. Disgusting.
