Found the 22" gas at Waterloo, IA KMart after much searching around. High on a shelf in the garden section. Tag said $159, got a clerk to pull it down, checked at CS $40. Had one left. Got home and fired that mother up and made short work of the dreaded hedge trimming chore. Had a Bushwacker electric, but hated hauling cords, plus I've cut a few in half during the heat of battle . Thanks OP |

Thanks Incredibledealmaker, Found the 18" electric hedgetrimmer for $10 in Savannah, GA. Also did a stupid thing, had time and decided to check the video games section. And noticed that they had 3 copies of Halo 3 CE in the counter. I asked if they were the real games or just display and she said they were the games. And, the dumb move....I pointed out that they were supposed to be out next week, instead of asking to purchase one. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Well, after realizing that it had a tape on top that said, "Do not sell until 9/25", she said, "Thanks, I was going to ask if you wanted one." But instead she placed all 3 copies under the counter. |

bossofyou said:Went to the Canton, GA store this AM. They had moved all the garden center stock to the area outside electronics. They had some patio furniture, and little else. The garden center was closed, filled with Christmas stock waiting to be displayed. They hadn't a shovel or rake in the place. The Marietta store had a lot of leftovers. I picked up two of the electric hedge trimmers at $7 each, and one gas at $28. Also bought a small Black & Decker blower for $4.90, and an electric "stree lamp" for $17. Found the 50' hoses in a box, and bought four at $2.45 each. They had some mowers, but the only one I scanned was $250, as marked. Really wanted the edger, but this store didn't have any. Went to the Roswell store. It's undergoing a remodel. They have their entire store on sale, and some of the garden center stock was as much as 50%+ off, but their hedge trimmers were at full price. The gas model I bought for $28 was $159.99 at the last store, and the $7 models were $39.99. Thanks, OP. I went to the Marietta store - no hedge trimmers left, electric or gas. This store has the most stuff left of the three that I have gone to. Most of it is chemicals / fertilizer that does not appear to be on sale. No long handle tools on sale. Had several different models of lawn mowers, but I did not scan them. I did look for the $95 and $77 model numbers noted in other threads, none of them. A couple of chainsaws left, and 3 gas blowers that were regular price. 3 or so gas weed trimmers, did not scan them. |

Found two of the 22" Gas Hedge Trimmers at the Tualatin, Oregon store. They were also marked as $159 and hidden on the very top shelf. I pulled one down and self scanned the barcode and it came up $40. I took it to the register and the clerk could not believe the price. I got it home and looks to be a nice unit, but be careful. The blade will only accept a max branch size of 7/16". Most units in this price range will accept up to 3/4". Now, lets see what I can butcher in the yard....... |

There's a string trimmer lying around the Kmart here with no box, and no UPC. The mgr said it was $89 and put an $89 sticker on it. I wonder if it had a UPC, if it might ring up for less. |

If so, how about picking me up the gas hedge trimmer and meeting me? PM me if this is something you would be interested in doing for a fellow FW member. It appears there are two maybe three models discussed in this thread. Do you know which they had? |

Hoorah! After 2 horrible days at work (evil micromanager boss) I had dinner with a friend tonight and returned to the Pinole KMart on the way home. The 20" electric hedge trimmer was $15 with replacement plan at $2.99. There is one 18" trimmer left and it still scans at full price ($39.99). All other items (chainsaws, string trimmers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers) were at full price as well. |

I went to the San Leandro KMart yesterday just scouting around and did a price check on two of their hedge trimmers that had been on clearance, to see if they were marked down further. Surprise! They aren't on clearance anymore!? Very much a YMMV on these now. Apparently individual stores have pricing flexibility. |
