Last year was a little subpar, there were some good deals, but it was too the point where we thought many of the ads were actually fake because they were lackluster, when they turned out to be real. Hope the trend doesn't continue. I'm still excited though, you'll always find something worth getting up early and going through the routine for. It's a little sad when it's over, but it's actually coming pretty quick this year! My main focus will be digi cams this year. I like the index/new thread for every store idea. |

the Element 32" lcd tv that I got for $429 after HD 10% coupon last year still hasn't been beat and works great --- and there were no lines at HD --- so I'll take a look at HD again |

I also agree that a GPS will be definitely under $150, if not even in the $120 to $130 range or less. Right now you can get the no name ones for around $150 with a Mio being around $175....so it won't surprise me if we see a no name for $99, or a name brand for around the same or a little over $100. |

Well, it seems there will be great deals again. Now it's time to find some money I guess. BTW, (First rumor) Garmin Nuvi GPS will be around $200 at BestBuy. |

I wonder if Apple or AT&T will be reducing the price on the iPhone for BF...or perhaps releasing a new (16gb? 32gb?) version of it. |

Black Friday used to be cool..... Get to the store 3:00 am and hang around for a few hours and get great deals. Its OVER Todays BF has crazy teens lining up at 8:00PM the night BEFORE. Why do they do this? Well they dont have jobs or much money so they will do anything to get items cheap. BF has turn into a line of unemployed people!!!! |

BF has turn into a line of unemployed people!!!! LOL perhaps they are ebayers just trying to snatch up the good items for resale... Maybe you can relate... Anyways the worst offenders are the linecutters that show up 15 minutes before the doors open and just push their way through the line ahead of people who have been waiting patiently for 3 or 4 hours. It happens every year despite the store employees and police officers watching. I've seriously been tempted to trip them and let them get trampled by the crowd. They definitely deserve it. |

BF has turn into a line of unemployed people!!!! MUCH AGREED! Depending on what is going on I might not even go this year for the grand openings. I've gone for the past few years and last year was completely different. I used to show up with a coffee around 4:00am to 4:30am, wait till 6am, and get my stuff. Last year I drove by BestBuy and people were there at 10pm the night before. I hate to say it but my time is worth way more than the few hundred bucks I will save. Unless there is something that is a killer deal and I am dying to get, you won't see me waiting out in the cold |

It's all in fun guys. I work full time and will likely be at the store openings first thing in the morning then at work all day. I think its fun trying to snag stuff and fighting crowds. |

I think mine was the better deal. Olivia 37" for less than $400 with the $100 off apply for Micro Center card. I could have got for the 42" for $200 more (they still have quite a few of those 42" and only one of the 37" when I was there at 8am! They gave me a choice and I went for the lesser price.) The TV have excellent picture and brightness-its black level even exceed the Hitachi 55" plasma that I wana buy in June. I went to the store and there's just no black on the Hitachi just gray. With my Olivia the black of Mickey Mouse is INK Black! So I'm waiting for this BF to get a 50"+ plasma. Conns already got 60" LG for $2000 so I think by BF this gona go down a little bit more or at least the same price that Conns have right now. The 55" Hitachi I want to get ($1800 + shipping & $2200 in store) is now $1700+tax. I'm sure it will be sub $1500 on BF-I won't jump for it though. My prediction is that it could be one of the door buster item. Are Olevia TVs really made in the USA, or is just that the company HQ is there? According to thier latest 10-K report, "We have developed a global virtual manufacturing model that utilizes components sourced in Asia, third-party contract manufacturers located in Asia, and third-party assemblers located in close proximity to end-user consumers to produce our HDTVs." Syntax-Brillian Corporation owns the Olevia name and bought Vivitar Corp. in 11/06. They are a is a leading designer, developer, and distributor of high-definition televisions headquartered in the U.S. |

Ace Hardware on Black Friday: They don't sell out quickly, you can pick up the bargains later in the day, they are convenient to your house, and the prices tend to be honored all weekend. Their rebates actually work. That is why Ace on BF. |

Anyone object to starting an official BF TV's only thread? I guess it might be too early for that...But I'd like to see people debate it out as to whether TV's are cheaper on BF or after Superbowl. I really have to believe BF is cheaper... |

That is why Ace on BF. The only sad thing is that a lot of (if not all, not sure) Ace stores are franchised and the franchisees don't have to participate in the sales. Last year I took the BF ad from Austin to my local Ace in Arkansas for some of the deals and they said, "Huh?" |
