rebate link

5 free movies also applies to Toshiba HD DVD players if you decide to go that route...here's the rebate for them:

Toshiba HD DVD Player rebate

and rumor has it that when 3rd gen players are released in october the list of movies on this rebate changes, just something to keep in mind. If your google-fu is strong you should be able to find the updated list of movies.

However, do you suppose to get $150 discount for a combo Samsung DLP TV & Xbox ?
Why didn't you get it ? Any reason ?

mt3ch said:UPDATE

BB salesman calls Direct TV and hands you the phone. He in no way is involved in any sort of approval process from DTV.

So basically you can BS the call and hang up and say ok Im all set.

I ended up getting:

50" 720p Samsung DLP (rang up $699.99)
and
Xbox Elite (Rang up $299.99)

Total around $999 plus TAX.

The DTV receiver is shipped by DTV to the customer. They ask for your cc over the phone. So be sure to cancel ASAP if you dont want to actually try the service. And its a 2 yr agreement as well!!! So buyers BEWARE!!!!!!!!!

I did not however get the additional savings from getting the Samsung + Xbox $350 savings.

Good luck! Time for FORZA 2 on my Westy 42" 1080P that I got thnx to FW over a year ago!

DLP is for the wifey.

The deals dont stack. But the computer calculates the greater discount so I got $300 (DTV sign UP) and $150 (Samsung + Xbox deal).

I wanted the extra $100, but they wouldnt budge. they also wouldnt allow me to use a BDAY 12% off coupon.

I figured since I didnt have to buy the DTV receiver ($99), I scored pretty well considering I got an ELITE 360 and the TV for $999.

Good luck to those interested!!!!

talk about some research, lol... good work... though, lately i'm getting tired of spending my time with rebates and returns and such. i really wanna do this. it's definitely better than submitting ddr2 rebates all of the time to make a quick $20.

my 360 is fried and i need a new one, and i have no hd-dvd player, and i would love a 42" plasma over my 37" lcd... though i doubt i'm gonna have the time for this.

for the ppl with a bit of free time or perhaps an open weekend, if you need this stuff, this is hot!

I would like to do this deal but am just worried about DTV cancellation.
That is one evil empire. I don't want any hassel with them later on.

OP stated that cancellation is just a phone call away but I hope that there is no FINE Print this year.

Can anyone who did this deal and cancelled DTV already, confirm please?

Thanks.

The free stereo is an ONLINE ONLY deal from my understanding.

Does 5" make much difference in this size range, or does lcd have a crappier picture compared to plasma?

Or is your lcd just crappy?

Does anyone know if you can do a PM on a TV at the same time as doing this deal?

Conn's in my area has the Samsung HPT4254 in stock for $1300, whereas Best Buy has it for $1400. I was wondering if I could get this deal with the discounts, and do a PM to Conn's for the $110.

Seems to me you can bring it down even further:

Pana TV: $1149
DTV receiver: $99
Install: $150
Delivery: $50
Total pretax: $1450

rebate: $400
return/resell DTV: $100
Pana install rebate: $150
rewards/CC points: $50
total: $700

Total cost: $1450 - $700 = ~$750 +taxes for just the TV.

Or if you go for the Samsung TV:
Samsung TV: $1299
DTV receiver: $99

Total pretax: $1400

Rebate: $300
return/resell DTV: $100
rewards/CC points: $50

Total: $450

Total cost ~$950, but you get a $200 stereo + $100 giftcard

Can anyone confirm if this deal is possible? I might just get a TV now instead of wait until Black Friday. I don't think any deals on BF will be any better than this.

alert mods

^ I don't see why that wouldn't work, but you're obviously not getting an Xbox and/or HD-DVD add-on for only a bit more. You'd be better off getting the Xbox (and the addon if you can get the $100 off) and sell whatever you don't want to lower the cost of the TV.

alert mods

does anyone else think there won't be any better deals on BF than this?

Also, I'm seeing BB having a free Sony Home Theatre System with the purchase of a TV. Can you have this added onto the deal?
