Already a member but bump for a GREAT deal OP! Green for you

Just remember that you are signing up for a minimum of three months. How it basically works out is that you have to give a minimum of two months notice to quit. (one month notice that you must pay for and after that your last month's prepayment is used...) So, if you want a three month membership only, you should quit the second you sign up - - - and it will work out fine.

I like 24 hour Fitness myself - I've been a member for years. No frills but I ignore all sales pitches for products and for all trainer "deals" so am fine with this club.

Would be nice if you had an employee ID number to add to this deal. I am not so sure its as easy as asking someone at 24hr Fitness for their number. Some guy on Craigslist is asking for $20 a person to use his employee number.

Offer valid at participating club locations only.

...so how do we know which clubs are participating?...anyway to find out online?

I got this deal 3 weeks ago. and I am using it 5 times a week.
Green for you....

This deal was posted on the SD forums around 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link to SD forums but if you can find it, there are employee id's you can use there. The title of the tread is "24hr Fitness Deal IS BACK"

"Limit 10 redemptions per employee ID."

If you want in on this deal, look at SD for employee ID numbers. They start with 9.

signed up for one of these a few months ago
but mine is restricted to only one location

It is not like it is a secret deal. It is a sales promotion. Call a sales associate or stop by and tell them you are interested in the gift of health promo.

We are not scamming them. They are just not over advertising the promotion.

I am not sure about the participating locations question. Since you can sign up online, and it allows access to all locations except those mentioned, I would guess that they all have to participate. If the one closest to you is not, just enter another zip code, find one that is and sign up. Then go to any gym that you want.

24 hr fitness has some incredible plans if you're committed longterm. I know of a plan which requires some patience and discussion where you get 3 yrs at ANY location in the US of membership for $650 for 3 yrs, then it's $30/year after that. Much better in the long haul.

I just made up a 4 digit number with the letter 'e' at the end(Compliments of an SD post). 9882e worked for me. Took 3 tries to get a working one

Sounds like a good deal for people looking for month-to-month.

But for those looking for a low monthly ($16.67/month) for long term, then I don't think $24/month is a good deal. I signed up for 3 years for $600 with $99 annual renewal thereafter. Some of my friends got the annual renewal for $49.99 and $149. Some even got the 3 year for $549. My membership is for all clubs also. No BS initiation or processing fees either. I think the only requirement is if you sign up two other people at the same time. I'm sure there's a group buy ad on craigslist.

I remember a while back our local TV news station (San Francisco) had a report on health clubs and their negotiation tactics on new membership. Just remember everything is negotiable.

i became a member a few months ago...after reading some the deals here, I was able to get a decent deal even though I had to wait a few weeks...

the regular price at my local 24 HR Fitness for an all club membership was $799 plus the initation and processessing fees. I told them I had some buddies in California get a deal for $699 for 3 years w/ $49 annual renewal...they said they couldn't do that here in TX so I walked out...they called twice in the next two weeks to see if I changed my mind which I did not...on the third week, they said they had a new special which was $749 for 3 years w/ $29 annual renewal plus five 60 minute trainer sessions (which is worth about $250) so I jumped on that deal...

I have been averaging about 3-4 visits a week...there is brand new one (probably 7 months old) down the street from my work and another down the street from our house...I have lost about 10 pounds from all the cardio I have been doing...

Could some one who have been members comment on what services they provide. I mean is it just like any other gym where we can go and do what ever we want OR will we be having a personal trainer, who helps us do the right kind of exercises to reduce our weight.

I want to know this before knocking on their doors as I have a membership to a proclub, but no trainer. The option to appoint a personal trainer is costing some extra bucks. And going to gym, without proper trainer and right knowledge of foods to consume is keeping me away from losing my weight, which is the major reason for my not going to the gym regularly.

If this 24hrs fitness centre sounds good, I might want to join this as well.

Any comments appreciated.
Thanks

Make sure you order sport club, and not the active club, thay cost the same. and sport has much more like a pool. You dont have to join the one closest to your home .

I don't know of any gyms that offer free personal trainers, or at least a complementary personal trainer for a $24/month membership. Regardless, I know there is a wealth of (probably overwhelming) information out there, but it's going to come at a price. Whether that price is big money (through a personal trainer), moderate money (through taking some nutrition/exercise physiology classes), or minimal money (but TIME, in researching online and sorting through the cluster**** of facts) is up to you.

I hope I don't come off as an ass, but don't expect to be spoonfed information on how to better you life. Be proactive and either find the information from reputable sources (read: not Dr. Atkins), or work hard enough to pay someone to tell you.
