This is a great set. I have the 720p version and the anti-glare really sets it apart from other plasmas. The 1080p feature is really an overkill for this size set, but for less than $90 more than the 720p ($839 also on sale) it may be worth it.

You mean 11/12?
Instore till 11pm tonight..don't stores close well before that on Sundays? like 7pm.

Too bad the $200 installation rebate for Panasonic TVs expired on 10/31/2007. If anyone can find a new rebate that replaces that one, this would be an unbelievable deal at $790!
how long after u place the online order did people get the confirmation email?
i placed my order about 20mins ago but yet no email ?

$989. Delivered.
I seriously doubt a better deal will be had on this set through the holidays. Just bought one. Did not see anything about free delivery. Can you please help me know how do I get free delivery? Thank you.

Bought it anyway. Still a great deal at $1089 ... kick myself for not keeping a Sears card open.
I called and she said I could apply over the telephone for a Sears card. She said she would know instantly whether I was approved for my card - or not as the case might be.
But
She said, even WITH approval, no card would be granted for seven to ten days!!! And she said no CC number would be given out instantly, even though I might be approved instantly.
I explained I did not want/need the actual, physical card - just my Sears card number so I could buy from Sears on-line right away.
Answer: NO DICE!!! That's not how they do it.
Typical Sears. Slow, Slow, Slow. Sears is a leisurely walk back in time to maybe, let's say, the 1950's.
Screw 'em. Let 'em keep the darn TV. They drive me nuts with their prehistoric ways.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL most LCD's have a 1,000 to 1 contrast ratio. Plasma murders LCD in contrast ratio. And while were on the topic on picture quality and price.

So what do I do if I want to pick this up today in store?
It is currently 10pm in Cali. Hopefully I can still make it out, my local store has "Available" for the TV.

Please enlighten us. Putting down a post w/o justification is almost equally useless.

Sigh.... good find OP, but the Sears card kills it for me. Looking around online I've found many negative experiences with the card. While it's a good deal and certainly deserves green, some caution is needed. Card application can hurt credit rating plus you get a credit card that has a horrible rate and is pretty much useless outside of these Sears-specific sales.

Swung by Sears tonight - the one by my place wasn't even open. Bummer.
Is this a better tv than Sharp aqua deal couple weeks ago? Is LCD generaly better? Lcd doesn't have burn in like plasma. i am not sure, still learning...

Well, if you need justification..then obviously you're just in the group of ppl just buying based on others' opinions....which if you took ,anrusha's, you would have been sorely misled....plasmas have ALWAYS had a higher contrast ratio. i feel bad for ppl who bought a plasma only 3yrs ago....the ratio was MUCH worse than today's. ... and anti-glare to boot.

*perhaps* you had a typo..but you still made comparison to an LCD...which was the tell-tale that you misunderstood.

Rural Sears, those only open Monday thru Saturday, are having their sale this evening from 6 to 9 11/12/2007. Call your store and check it out.

Good deal - too bad I can't pay with a debit card and get the same price. Guess Sears is banking people taking two years to pay the tv off and eating Sears' 23% APR.

I think it has just as much to do with their 280 buck service plans instead of people getting double their warranty with their credit card.

would it be possible to PM to BB then do their whole 600 bucks off (buying direct tv, surround sound, installation, and hd-dvd)? it's 1299 at BB this potential to become a really hot deal.
Also at my local BB they have this in 50 inch set up for a home theater experience with blu-ray running to it, and it looks basically jaw dropping (the best as I can describe it) also BB has 2 yrs. interest free for their tvs atm. Not trying to take away from the deal OP mentioned, but adding to it.

So I can still purchase this TV in-store without a Sears Card for $1049.99?? What is the benefit of the Sears Card?

Hi there, I am wondering about the free delivery. It adds $65 for delivery and I can not find anyway to remove this. Are you supposed to do an in store pickup? Thanks

the benefit is what you just mentioned. purchasing the Sears card gets you a further discount, ie the $150 mir.

Free delivery is a MIR, you also have to make a qualifying audio purchase

I purchased this TV on a Sears Mastercard, and did not get the rebate form as expected with my order confirmation. Has anyone confirmed that the $150 rebate is valid with a Sears Gold Mastercard? (Sears has two consumer cards - the Sears Card which seems to be issued by Sears itself, and the Sears Gold Mastercard, which is issued through Citi but which is supposed to carry all of the benefits of the Sears Card).

I wasn't able to find anything about this. There was a banner up top that stated the following in fine print:
"Free Shipping on items shipped via Lowest Cost or ground shipping method for all mailable orders over $49. Offer applies to most items under 120 lbs. Shipping offer excludes shipping costs on non-mailable items delivered via freight truck, freight truck curbside, or premium white glove delivery shipping methods.
Offer does not extend to items purchased from LandsEnd.com, Sears Parts Direct, Sears licensed partner web sites, digital services, "Sears Presents", and Shop At Home catalogs."
