That is their crappy service or BS.
Come on, get real - Dell does not have crappy service. About the only ones I usually hear say that are the ones trying to take extreme advantage of Dell and getting a little push back on it. Sorry to disagree with you but I own three Dell laptops and one desktop and their service S*CKS bigtime. Try getting through their crappy auto call attendant. Try getting help from India or Indonesia. Hell, I just purchased a harddrive from THEM for one of my laptops and they sent me the wrong mount - guess what, it took me two weeks, four or five calls, having to send pictures of both the right and wrong parts to show them it was wrong, and when I finally got the correct part they charged me $12 for it??? I tried to buy a dvd burner to replace the cd burner on another machine and they sent be FOUR burners for the wrong machine (dimension versus inspiron). I finally sent picutures again of the right versus wrong parts before I got the correct one, and that was only after I finally called and asked for the president in Texas and a "representative" called me back. I thing he is reason I finally got the correct part. (anyone need burners for a dimension? i have four for sale or trade.....) Sorry guy, they S*CK big time. Forget about my nightmare with getting a failed laptop motherboard repaired under warranty. It is a joke having to call Dell and get anything from them. Just my nickels worth. |

Got it now, thanks. For anyone else in the same boat: 1. click on "Shipping" (to the left of the $69) 2. Window comes up, pick $19 - $19 option, 3-5 days. |

I have about 20 units and never had THAT bad of an experience! I do agree that their tech support isn't up to par. I've learned that all you have to do is have them escalate the case and they'll happily transfer you to somebody stateside (or maybe latin america... but i guess it's in the right direction...) |

Thanks OP! Wifey wanted 1520 Inspiron with the purdy case option like one of her friends just got... but she will be more happy when I tell her I spent $200 less... [I upgraded to the TL and 6 cell battery - foolish not to for those considering the choices... Battery has to last as long as my wife's former Dell 8600, or she will complain that it is not as good... ] I also threw in a Epson R260 to get the ink for $14 AR. I know there are cheap OEM cartridges, but the Clarion ink is suppose to last longer. We print-out pics for everyone at Christmastime, so this is a great deal on genuine Epson ink which is $75 at Sams or $30ish on eBay... |

Really? My cart says free shipping....
I did the XP with TL, and once I logged in it gave me 69 shipping plus 40something tax. Some do pay tax, I never do for any buys (Oregon) as I recall 2 other states the same.

We'll see if FatCash shows up as well. Actually it now is on the FW Dell SB offer page, so FW cash will kick in if linked thru them.

No doy! Actually AMD Dual Cores beat Intel Core Duos. Core 2 Duos are significantly better than AMDS though. The processors available for this deal all have 512 cache which sucks I personally wouldn't buy one. The thing I found as odd is that there seems to be no way to get Vista home Deluxe. It conflicts with the optical drive and you have no other option for an optical drive. |
