Looks like my list of non-software FAR items from the San Diego Fry's ad posted previously is the same as what's in this ad, so you might want to check that list out here (I think this ad has a Conext power strip for FAR also, PLU is: 3672835, $5 rebate, which wasn't FAR in the SD ad--there might be other FAR item changes too, but, if any, not many). |

Correct me if I'm wrong. Just a reminder that the ECS 671T-M Mobo bundled with Q6600 for $199 doesn't appear to support Core 2 Quad. Link . |

it is probably a mistype. They wont bundle a motherboard that doesn't work with the cpu. |

I think they've sold this combo before: Previous FW post So I doubt the MB doesn't work with the CPU. A google search for "671T-M q6600" don't find an uproar or angry people. |

I know, it caused me a week of troubles trying to figure out why i kept getting BSOD until i realized the combo (sold as a combo in their ad) was not compatible. Luckily, they let me return it... |

Get there early. There WILL be people lining up today for our ads. We are loved by geeks But if you want an ad items, I suggest getting there at around 2-3 am. There is no tickets in line, but there may be some for the hot items in each department. Home office does not give us any guidelines on how to run the show, so it will vary to each store depending on management. Some stores just run smoother than others. For any electronics items that are lockup (memory, cpu, some harddrives), you will need to get a quote at the components counter. There should be a seperate line for that as well. Usually alot of the hot ad items we have 100+ quantity in. It's not expected to last all day but should be enough for someone who shows up without waiting in line for to get an item. Again, YMMV depending on store. Come prepared. Know what you want, the item and PLU number for the item so you can pick it up quickly. Its very difficult to get customers who ask for the "TV in the ad", not realizing there are almost 20 of them. We will not pricematch on BF, ourselves or others. The only exception if you bought the item a few days ago, they might bend the rules for you. But do not expect us to match CC, BB, or anything anyone bought on Wednesday. Speaking of which, once the San Diego ad hit the net, all the managers got an email from homeoffice letting us know and telling them to "protect their merchandise", basically keep everyone on the lookout for people buying multiple ad items looking to PM on Friday. Return/Rebuy will vary per manager per store. Some will let you, some will not. And one last note, please be considerate of your Fry's associates. The majority of the 200+ employees are there from 4am to 11pm, all day, to help you all out. It's very exciting for some folks (like myself, who will consume 8-10 energy drinks that day), but very exhausting and draining for many. If you can't get the help you need for someone, ask another associate or a supervisor and they'll give you a hand. |

Impressive! (Much better than the Lowes employee who called FW people scum) Well, this is the one day of the year Fry's does not expect to make any money. We usually either finish the day either at cost or just above or below it. This is the day to draw in the casual buyer out for xmas gifts, put our best foot forward in prices and selection, and present the best of ourselves to the people who are shopping here for the first time. BF is the day to "make friends", so you will be a customer for life Just don't come in at 8:30pm and throw a fit because the $299 laptop is sold out (I don't know how many times I heard the phrase "bait and switch" last year ) |

Can you please tell me WHY the Atlanta ads are SO weak?? It was only 1 freaking page, and it SUCKS. Are they going to have more items in the store than what was advertised in today's paper? |

They really screwed up in Atlanta this year. The full 10-page ad didn't come out until the morning of BF! How are you supposed to know what's in it if you are camping out at midnight and the paper is not available until 5-6am when the stores open?? Just plain stupid. So I found out later that ppl were camping out anyway, with no idea what they were standing in the freezing cold for? Crazy I hope they get smart next year and publish on Turkey day like everyone else. |
