"November 12, 2007 Black Friday - Amcor A3900 GPS
The Amcor A3900 GPS is part of the Black Friday Madness this year, and should be offered for around $99. The unit is a standard screen size, 3.5-inch unit that appears to use the iGo base software that is customized for the unit. Mio and others use the same software engine, customized for their liking. For me, with some caveats, the Mios work very well. They have options on their version that offer a lot of capability.
I have used other units with the iGo software and they perform just fine but hardware can be a concern when running through these lower end "off-name" units. Buttons can stick, or speakers can not be loud enough, etc.
I have not used the Amcor A3900, so I can't tell you if the unit is good or bad. Considering the other options for Black Friday, if you really want a GPS, there are better more tested units out there for the same price or less, and much better units at slightly higher prices. " link

i use it, but the map is not well organize<< i guess... but anyway, it's still good deal with Amcor 3900. $99+tax(after mail rebate). one more thing, the system between Amcor 3900 and tomtom is some difference. i got this gps around 2 00 pm, it still has 1X~2X, i dont know why, maybe that's not well organize? but....think about that.... $200 and $99>>> you can see the difference!
I have been playing with this for about a week now. I really like it in terms of GPS, looks and added features which neither the mio, navigon nor the tomtom one has. Maybe the number of POI,s might not be sufficient and street names are not voiced out. But there is a lot of accuracy in guidance.
Added features are the mp3 and mp4 funtionality. I get to use it less...my daughter uses it more to watch movies .. I love this unit

I bought one from LNT on Black Friday. It was OK when 1st using it. But after 2 days, I lost the navigation function under the main menu. I just returned it to LNT. I think there's some software bugs in this product. Even Amcor tried to convince me to exchange for a new one, I'd rather return it. I just can not trust this product anymore.

I bought TWO. Have made it past the two day mark with no problems. Well two observations, wife doesn't like that it doesn't call out the street names (though they are prominently displayed top dead center of display) and the Setup Menu for POI's has a SHOW/HIDE function (like turn off Golf Courses and turn on Ski Resorts) that doesn't seem to carry over (it keeps showing the same four default POI catagories despite there being many more to choose from and despite your SHOW/HIDE settings.
So I do hope somebody posts tweaks, easter eggs, or hacks for these things. I love that it plays media, just pop out the 1 GIG SD card that came with it which holds the map and applications software and put in your SD card with MP3 or MP4 or AVI's (it even plays ASF videos). Since it's a Win CE 4.2 core I bet it plays WMA's too?
GPS functions are rock solid and accurate. Lots of bells and whistles like dynamic volume (get's louder as unit detects higher speeds to compensate for increased cabin noise), fly-over, itinerary, 3D panning zooming day/nigh mode and tons more.
It comes with a sturdy suction cup mounting hardware, USB cable, CD with back-up and restore utility of all your pinned map areas and history, cigarette lighter charger, and manual. I like it a lot and I'm comparing this with my Prius (Lexus) factory GPS and VZ Navigator which costs 9.99 a month. So this will pay for itself in under a year.
The in-car entertainment value is worth what I paid alone, most MP3 players are in that range if they play video and usually a 2.5 or smaller non touch-control screen vs. this 3.5" monster. The voice is extremely human like and sounds great with the built in speaker, but if you have an aux-in in your car use a patch cord and get your directions over your car stereo system.
Highly recommended! I got mine off eBay for 69 bucks each so I simply cannot complain. They had LNT stickers on the boxes so guess an eBay seller got a close out deal on them?
Great battery life but give them a full charge before first use cause they come completely dead. Expect around 4 hours of GPS or 3 hours of video watching before you need to plug in the cig adapter.
Do post if you figure out the way around the POI menu issue etc. Mine has Aug 2007 version of software.

I got mine from eBay too and it is dead. How do you charge yours when the unit does not come with an ac adaptor, there is the car charger though. Thanks.
