I bought it today. No problem using the Dec 7-10 coupon and no problem to update. But when I tried the Map Share, TT Home said Map Share is not supported either for the device or for the map. Does anyone have any clue of this? Thanks!

I just got back from Best Buy, I purchased online with instore pickup. I tried to use the B-Day coupon but they would not honor it as it states only for "Regularly Priced Items". I tried both the customer service rep and the manager with no luck. They tried the coupon and it scanned but did not take anything off and they wouldn't do anything manually.

I'm new to GPS's, and need to know what the Text To Speech hack is for, if this already talks. Is it to get it to speak the street names?

you can hack the LE? whats the difference betweeen the LE and 3rd edition?

Scored one with 12% coupon along with my tripple points coupon and $15 reward certificate. The nice lady has to manually overide the price(she got the power), in return, I just handed over a $5 off CVS coupon(colored one) to her and asked her if she ever shopped in CVS, answer: yes now and then, oh, thank you, you are so nice. End of story.

Any suggesions for getting this open? Short of using my table saw, What is wrong with using cardboard instead of plastic?

You're not kidding. That's got to be the worst packaging ever (in terms of difficulty opening it). I gather it's an anti-theft measure - you can't open it in the store and remove the security tags.

Just make a slit in the bottom of the package and rip it apart from there.

Blister packages are far cheaper to produce than cardboard. Thats the main reason for their use.

I had no problems with my LE (from Black Friday).

See my post on the GPSPassion thread.

Believe me, it's not that simple with this package. I had to use a knife AND scissors, and start cutting in multiple places. And because of the unusual shape, ripping it apart is much easier said than done.

I agree this package with the metal clips at the top looks like something that is build better than the actual GPS. I am afraid to open it lest I get charged the 15 percent restocking fee if it does not work and I have to return it to BB.

Here's what I think and you'll find it very helpful soon... GPS units will drop prices like rocks or better... in a month or so, I'd expect to see either TT or Garmin selling as low as $99 (One or nuvi 200). Mark my words. That's why I am not even bother with this offer.. and I saw my local OD had two Nuvi 350 for $209 each (and I had $40 off $200 coupon from CC) and I didn't even go for that one.

Right now? I am using nuvi 250w (loan from work) and I might get one for my wife shortly.. when it dipped into $99... with TT coughing up for Teleatlas and needs cash desparately, allong with new players forging in the battlefield, I expect a price war worse than pc ones between amd and intel... time will tell

Hmm. Well the directions I gave are exactly what I did with the one I opened.

Ok so I don't need this now but will come march. Anyone want to guess on the odds of there being a better deal between now and then ?

bad interface, bad graphics, bad POIs. even if you buy it, do not open it till you figure out what you are going to do with it(avoid losing stocking fee at BB).
Compare it, go look it perform at BB/Circuit City.

I had no issues adding TTS. I also don't think this GPS is great, but for under $150, I don't think you're really going to do better. Of course a $400 garmin will be better, but you're paying a lot more.

You did not have any issues, the same sites that you are mentioning, GPSpassion and likes have had programmers who have bricked these machines. the cost of bricking one is 22 bucks (ask me), i was so enthu about the hack, that I returned the Nuvi 200, but the hack went bad.

And I am not asking people to not buy it, I am sayin it is not a good value for money. Why dont you agree that the POIs are simply out of date.
What about the map search feature, it looked like a out of shape GIF image, with arrows on all four sides to drag the map !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I am not talking about the $400 garmin, we just had the 209.99 Nuvi 350 (which I could not get my hands on), but that for 70 bucks more is a real value for money deal. This simply is not. And this is from personal experience. And that is the reason you should go to BB and try out the demo, and try to demo for the Garmin/Magellans and then decide.
and Navteq is simply the best. No questions about it.

I added the TTS to my LE with no problems. The best part is you put all the files on the 2gb sd card so your internal memory remains "clean". If you have any problems, just take out the SD card and you're back to normal.

Awesome value at $120 in my opinion.

Box cutter around the perimeter is what the rep at bestbuy suggested - she was even going to do it for me, but it's a gift for the 'rents.

Haven't experienced good service like that at BB... ever.
