Compare it, go look it perform at BB/Circuit City.
I had no issues adding TTS. I also don't think this GPS is great, but for under $150, I don't think you're really going to do better. Of course a $400 garmin will be better, but you're paying a lot more. You did not have any issues, the same sites that you are mentioning, GPSpassion and likes have had programmers who have bricked these machines. the cost of bricking one is 22 bucks (ask me), i was so enthu about the hack, that I returned the Nuvi 200, but the hack went bad.
And I am not asking people to not buy it, I am sayin it is not a good value for money. Why dont you agree that the POIs are simply out of date. What about the map search feature, it looked like a out of shape GIF image, with arrows on all four sides to drag the map !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I am not talking about the $400 garmin, we just had the 209.99 Nuvi 350 (which I could not get my hands on), but that for 70 bucks more is a real value for money deal. This simply is not. And this is from personal experience. And that is the reason you should go to BB and try out the demo, and try to demo for the Garmin/Magellans and then decide. and Navteq is simply the best. No questions about it. Uh... No more coffee for you. Could someone translate his post to proper English for me? =) Oh, and for those looking for a 2gb SD Card... conveniently here... =) |

Thanks It does after doing the TTS hack/upgrade but not sure if it does before? I have done three of them but don't have one to look at that hasn't been upgraded. It also added MP3 and photo viewing capabilities. |

I just found out yesterday that my TomTom ONE LE that I got during Black Friday is defective. Figured that out when I tried to use their "Latest map guarantee" function. I let it update my device which took forever, so I left it on and came back after 2 hours. When I tried to use it, the GPS showed me a screen saying that it does not have any maps. Using the TomTom Home software, I tried to restore the device, but it gives me write errors when I copy the map file back to the GPS from the backup. I think the NAND memory inside the thing is defective. I'm going to exchange it and hopefully get a working one this time. |

Thanks for the info. Could you point me to some tips on the hack. I have never done it before. So, whatever help you provide will be appreciated. Also, I think this does mapshare even with the hack (may be an upgrade is needed). Is that correct? rushhound said:hyrjud said:Nice deal.

Bobobo said:Scored one with 12% coupon along with my tripple points coupon and $15 reward certificate. The nice lady has to manually overide the price(she got the power), in return, I just handed over a $5 off CVS coupon(colored one) to her and asked her if she ever shopped in CVS, answer: yes now and then, oh, thank you, you are so nice. End of story. You may be right as every Tom, Dick and Harry is making GPS units these days. But for those who need one now this is an exceptional deal without having to wait in the wee hours of the morning to get one during the BF sale. |

Got one for $129. Went to pick up my online order, asked if I could use the coupon. The nice person rang it up as a new purchase with coupon. Now just have to cancel the online order. Thanks |

Had no issues updating to the latest firmware/maps, adding all the POIs from TomTom Home and replicating this to the $0.99 2GB SD card together w/TTS. Wonderful GPS and much better than the Navigon, certainly better than trying to use my GPS18 with a laptop |

Man I went to TWO best buy's and both immediately shutdown the coupon stating others had tried to use them and it's not good for merchandise on sale... what a joke... they should make the 12% coupon available standardly to EVERYBODY because buying something at Best Buy that is NOT on sale is crazy... Only thing I can think of would be a new release video game... lol but I can usually save more than 12% with Circuit City online the first week when they have it for 10 bucks off, aka 20%... wow Worst Buy sux0rs! |

Just purchased one from b b. I presented the coupon to her but it scanned as valued customer $0.00 and she proceeded to tell me that it wouldn't work because the item is on sale. Oh well. |

No questions about it. POIs are out of date??? That just shows you don't have any experience with using the TomTom and using the available updates. You can go online to TomTom and get current POIs and also many that do not come on the unit from the store. Besides that the available TomTom forums have additional POIs that you can add (also for free) for almost anything you can think of. I have used most brands available here in the states, they all have their pluses, but for the money (as in the sales prices being offered now) the TomTom is one of the easiest for people who have never used a GPS before to use and learn, and also to customize, and therefore is definitely a best buy today. For most experienced GPS users the TTS feature is nice to play with at first but after a few days it goes largely unused. I'm listening to the stereo, not the GPS. |
